Hard to beat it. Shads been hard to find here. I used to collect shad for the bait distributor and they'd buy shad buy the bag or buy the bucket depending how he wanted it. Sometimes he wanted pints of gizzard shad guts. Stinky gig but decent side money. Now I just fish since my new job I work 80 hour weeks some weeks. But idk if the silver and bighead carp are finally doing damage to the bait fish or not. White bass hasn't been the same either in my river. Like sauger.

yea I agree. My PB 41 pounder came on fresh live bluegill. my buddy's dad got a 76 pound blue on a piece of cut carp that weighed about a pound lol. And shad well shads shad lol they love it. got alot of rain here last night. River jumped 5 feet in 24 hours. Was gonna do some catfishing on my kayak but wont be going there today. Might go bank fish some. Cant catch a break in this weather to go. enjoy them blue cat filets they sure are tasty

Nice channel catfish @Boognelson87. First time I ever ate a blue catfish I swore to never eat channel’s again. If you never had a blue catfish you need to try it
I agree completely. My nearest location to get them is hour and 45 minutes away. I prefer flathead the most personally. But of the 3 channels are the worst. Just limited here compared to the southern and river folks.
And I choose drum over channel catfish everyday of the week to eat lol. I love me some buffalo ribs too
