You bet I do, for salmon on the north coast of British Columbia. I used to do lots of stream fishing for salmon and steelhead, but now just fish the ocean to put fish in the freezer. Sorry, no pics on this computer, I did have a look.

That harvest of yours looks as though you had, or will have, some very fine eating. I still remember the first catfish I ate as a teen fisherman in Ontario decades ago, and it was goooooood! :worship:

@Olderfart i lived in jersey for 25 years before I moved to Texas back in 84 and never had a catfish in my life and here in Texas everybody eats catfish. I always ate channel catfish until I tried a blue catfish and nothing but white fillets. Delicious!

If I ever get a chance at one, I will remember to try it. I am sure the catfish I caught and ate as a kid was a different species, but it was firm and delicious. It must have made an impression on me, I still remember it well over 50 years later. Your trivia for the day is that I caught in in the old Welland Canal in one of the no longer active locks. For some reason, I think I only ever caught one there, the usual fare was yellow perch. The old guys who knew what they were doing there also got pike, and some kind of bass, might have been silver bass, not largemouth or smallmouth anyway. However, they had better bait than us kids without money or gear did, so I'll blame our lack of pike and bass on that. Summer holidays in those days consisted of chasing new fishing spots on our pedal bikes. And the fishing hasn't stopped since.

i like to go fishing with the wife, historically dont catch much but its been getting better. we aim for eating what we catch! its usually a good time for everyone involved when we to the lake to go fishing and swimming!
