I’ve never had blue cat. Always catching channels. Iv’e heard flathead are good eating too!

@DirtDiggler only my opinion if you ever try blue catfish and had the opportunity you would never eat a channel catfish again! Pure white meat again. Channels are scavengers and mainly eat just about anything. Blues are suspended fish that primarily eat live or fresh dead shad

I am a big fan of white meat fish. Channels range in taste based on how they are prepared. They can be great or they can taste like shit

I'm jealous - cold, wet, and windy here. At least the thunder has stopped, no doubt our dog is happier for that, No fishing to be had here at the moment. Post pics of your results. Maybe even a pic of a nice fillet in the frying pan. Sigh.

I fish all the time spring through fall. fresh water lakes. Bass, white perch, salmon, crappies, being in Maine I catch and release. if I want seafoood
my choice is Scallops, shrimp, clams, and of coarse Lobster. my old boat sold this spring. getting too old to launch and retrieve. i now fish out of a Hobie pedal kayak.
