Yours Looks like it could Black up too..

Awww man, really :wiz: Do you think she will get me some colours? I really want some purple buds. Leaves are getting very dark and calyxes are turning black but can't get the colour and close shot on the picture (crappy camera). It amazes me how fast she's growing  - she is over 30 cm, I still keep her in 1l pot and I feed 2 times a day.

Purple Jem day 27

Could post some pics of your most dark/purple/black Jems please.
When they start to show colours?

well... lets see here... my jems and dragons are about 3.5 (almost 4) weeks old.. no color but green... do i still have time for them to color up? i am hoping maybe my newest dragon and jem will have those traits... guess we gotta wait and see right? looks like a white jem will be getting pollinated by a green duurtie dragon... :) i shall then cross the beans produced from the white querkle and duurtie dragon with the jem's seeds produced... all kinds of crazy phenos going on then... lol...

awesome... not overly excited, but prety stoked.. i want color.. i will be happy with anything healthy, but i havent grown any purples yet... just reds... and then it was most leaf and partially calyxes... cant wait for these to decide what they want to be...

So was it grasshopper or catipiller? It was a BAAAAADDDD!!!! year for those shiny, metallic looking beetles that are ALWAYS screwing. Japinese Beetles, I think. Those things are more prolific than bunnies. See 1, you'll see two cuz the'll be one on her back! They desimated all my flowers this year. Only plant they didnt like was my tobacco. I think Im gonna make some natty bugicide with my leaves for next year.

Ive noticed what look like fruit flies- only a lil different- around my indoor girls since they started flowering. I cant find ant rotting vegetation- or anything that would be attracting them. Should I be worried?

Most of my photos are looking male. DAMN. Its not only expensive, but its kinda sad killing em. I imagine Im marking myself as a plant nerd, but I grow pretty attached to em, and its hard to pull em. Oh well. I think Im an auto-convert now anyhow... Ive got a nice duuurty boy that Im sticking in the greenhouse with my Aerogarden auto girls. Ive never done a seed run before, but Im hoping to get some seeds from my JEM, PAR, and A-AK47 girlies. I have no idea when, how, or what to do, so Im counting on Mom Nature to do her thing... A lil research on my part prob wouldnt hurt, either... Ill gladly accept any advice, tho.

Oh, Another question. Isnt there a certain color light that wont interrupt the dark cycle of photos? Must it be specific color value of that color or just any color of that color, if ya know what I mean...

Have you tried collecting any pollen from any males to do some pollinating? A good way to a) get your moneys worth from them and b) by making yr own seeds can become self-sufficient and save a bundle on future seeds - whilst then still having the options of buying some more super nice strains as cash is available - at least thats my plan! Have just collected my first 8 seeds. Very much "pollen chucking" at this stage rather than trying to create a super-cross but a great experience knowing that I can do it (was a bit worried eyesight wldn't allow me to collect the pollen and pollinate - but for me its a godsend that mj has seperate male and female plants so that I at least know which bit is theoretically which!). I hear ya though - espically when starting out the males can be a bit of a dissapointment in that they won't provide the buds we are all after in the short term - but they can help with the long-term flow!

OK - after writing that and re-reading yr post I see you are about to do some seeding so my above paragraph is a bit redundant - but I'll keep it there if only to remind myself! Theres a thread or two on here about pollen storing/pollinating etc - well worth a read.

I believe a green light is what you're after for that but if Im wrong hopefully someone will jump in and correct me.
