For my germ method... I use Rapid Rooters and am starting a new method of germing just into promix and rinsing the promix off the roots to put it into my aero system. Going to test that out and see how it works.

Sorry you got a germ problem..

It wasn't as much a germ problem as it was a compost/Joe Dirt problem. I didn't keep a record but I know most, if not all the first batch of seeds from 10/5 germed. The ones that didn't make it, damped off after placing them in the bad compost (even though it was a new bag). The four survivors were in the same compost but they seemed unaffected, I don't know why. I bought another bag of strarting mix and placed the rest of the seeds directly in the compost. I have never done this before. I had 9 break ground and three still have not. But, I think that is probably my fault too, because I probably let the compost get too dry at one point before I realized it.

Can everyone put the germ method they are using..

I place beans in the refrigerator for 5 days (if they weren't already in cold storage). I remove to a dark, dry, room temperature area for two days. I have always used paper towel... after two days from refrigerator, I place between a folded, moist paper towel and place the paper towel inside a ziplock. Then I place the ziplock w/seeds in a warm (75-85f), dark place for two days, undisturbed. After two days, I check for sprouts and place any sprouted beans in compost. Any unsprouted beans are returned to the dark and checked again in two days, and so on.

BTW..Double Dragon has to name change..having two DD's is causing confusion..

Gotta be a Dragon..can't be Russian Dragon..that one is taken..

Falcor is a funny one. What about "Dragon's Breath" or "Dragon Blood"? Or maybe "Magic Dragon" in honor of the breeder
