Ive locked the snips up, now, and am looking much better for it!

Can someone fill me in on what 'light sensitive' is? Couldnt find much on the SE except just mention of it. I saw where most photo x auto F1's are light sensitive. 'Zat mean I gotta get em some of those wrap around dark glasses 90 year olds wear? Or that they have easily hurt feelings and sing showtunes during the day?

it simply means they are photos. autos are not light sensitive, i.e. they will flower regardless of light regime whereas photos are triggered by change in light hours therefore light sensitive:smoke:

:crying: light sensitive as in dark creatures of the night... lol

light sensitive simply means they are much more sensitive to light changes than an ordinary photo period cannabis plant. they usually have some auto plant in their background genetics making them more prone to flower after a certain veg period. Hope this helps? Effectively it makes them early finishing varieties... even though their parental gentics may be ordinarily a very long flowering variety... it makes for quick early outdoor cropping... which is good for the grower and bad for LEO... :toke:

here ya go... typed up a lil thing.

Explanation:

Photo Period Cannabis Plants: Photo Period Cannabis Plants flower typically when light levels reach or fall below 12 hours light / 12 hours dark (For Sativas) and 14 Hours Light and 10 hours dark (For Indicas). Most of the well known varieties of Cannabis found around the planet today are Photoperiod Strains of Cannabis. Examples: Northern Lights, Skunk, Silver Haze, etc.
Vegetative lighting for photoperiod Cannabis Plants is typically 18 light/6 hours dark which keeps them in a perpetual Veg state (not flowering).

Light Sensitive Cannabis Plants: Light Sensitive Cannabis Plants typically flower when the Light Levels they were used to in the Vegetative Stage start to dwindle and don't neccesarily require the Usual 12/12 or 14/10 to trigger full flowering. This means Premium crops of Cannabis can be harvested usually early to mid- September in the Northern latitudes (IE 45 N). which is good for the grower and bad for LEO... :toke:

Auto Flowering Cannabis Plants: A fairly recent addition to the Medicinal Cannabis World Stage, Auto Flowering Cannabis Varieties can be grown in virtually any light period and typically still progress very rapidly from a seedling through a short aggressive Vegetative Stage and directly into the Flowering Stage. Thanks to many fine breeders there are many strains available already and many more coming out quite regularly. Here at Auomaticseed.com you'll see the latest releases and get fair pricing. Check in often as you won't want to miss what's in store.

just goes to show , you gotta watch who you take advice from. thanks JM for the explanation and sorry bats if i misled you, it wasnt intentional.:smokebuds:

lol... no worries boomer... good to see you bro! :buds:

and now that you mention it, it does kinda tweak my mind a bit... but I think it boils down to what we see as "autoflowering" is actually just a plant which has become so "short minded" so to speak that in the interest of going through all phases as quickly as possible to achieve genetic offspring, it goes directly through without waiting to see if light changes will occur.... interesting to note some original ruderlis strains are believed to be from Siberian or Russian decent, if I remember correctly... that would CERTAINLY put pressures on to get the job done right now!

cheers bro:smokebuds::buds:. that makes complete sense about the siberian origins, specially with midnight sun and all. they may have an inner voice saying" aaahhh, whats the sun doing? finish quickly, finish quickly..." lol

yup... thats what i believe.... of course there is mexican ruderalis too... but who knows... maybe in desert parts or mountain regions short growable seasons or rains endure and they've developed the same thing... or perhaps they were shared by the planets natural circulation of species and such... tides, birds, animals, people...

so what your saying jm is that autos are the rabbits of the cannabis world
