New Grower Adventures of a noob grower.

Yea man my soil plant looks so beautiful to me. All I've given her is 1 half strength feed and 1 full strength so far. I'd say grow more and fox farm working pretty well together atm haha.

They also have some stuff called "Jump Start" which is supposed to be a better alternative to "Superthrive". I actually got that as a free sample too. I used it as a foliar spray on the dwc girl when I was going through those root problems. I can't say for sure it was because of the jump start or not but as you can see she made a full recovery.

So tempted to get another light! topled now has my light for 100$. That is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO cheap for a 300w 170w actual. Only reason I'm hesitant is because of the elec bill. Our bill at the moment is kind of high for us. 150$ a month is no joke when you're broke.

For what it's worth that light would cost a little under 12 dollars a month @ 20 hours a day for the average kw/h cost.

So I've been looking at my dwc plant (gawd I should really name em huh?) and I dunno about you guys but I think this plant looks weird. I've looked at a ton of pictures from a ton of different grows and I've never really seen a lady built like this before.

Pic taken today. Day 3 after the switch

She seems round and hollow lol. There is like nothing in the center! my plant is a donut. ;D

It won't let me expand the pic you posted so it is a little hard to tell but it just looks like a straigh bush, meaning it has no center stem or cola. I have had a few photo plants in DWC that did that and I have to say Wait till you see those buds!!!!!! I have been searching for the "hollow center" pheno for a long time because of the unique genetic trait. Its kind of like you FIM'd it but you never did right? I have thought for a long time that that specific gentic trait would be very useful in my breeding projects in the past. If it was anything like the 2 or 3 that I have grown she will literally scrog herself without any help, you will have lots of mini main colas and the yeild will be incredible(assuming everything else is in line) or at least that has been my experience. I would LOVE some of those seeds just to try and get that pheno/trait, but I think it is a recessive trait which is harder to stablize so I probably wouldnt get it knowing my luck lol

I got a bigger pic for you ;D

It's just as you described! I never fim'd it but I did top it once. It never got any taller after that. The other one was kinda fim'd and topped. I originally tried to top it but didn't get all of the growth so it was a fim. the new growth came in deformed. After I realized my "mistake" I topped the same area lol. If it's as amazing as you say then it sucks you couldn't get it in your seeds. You've definitely made me very excited. I can't wait to see what she does!!

Edit: Incase you are interested in the seeds. I got them from http://greenparrotseeds.com/en/seeds/1292-ak-47
The breeder is http://seedsbulk.com/

They have stupid cheap prices on packs of 10. 5$ per seed with free shipping.

Update!!! ;D

Today is day 43 from seed and day 6 of 12/12.

Yesterday I fed my soil girl ph'd water with molasses. Not really sure why I did it. I just thought I noticed some nute burn so I decided not to feed her anything real nutey. I also changed my res a few days ago and up'd the bloom/micro feed. I noticed some nute burn before the res change so I also made sure I lowered the ppm's to about 800.

I'm officially waiting for the stretch. I'm not sure if it's started yet tbh but there has been some nice new growth and stuff going on. I even took 2 cuttings from the dwc plant. I originally just cut them off because I didn't think they'd get very big as they were low on the plant and not getting as much light.

After I cut them I'm like "hey why not try to clone for the first time!". So I read about what I could use for cloning gel replacement as I don't have any. I ended up dipping them in some honey and putting them in rockwool cubes/ziplock bags. Placed them under 1 cfl and called it a day. If it works great! if not, I don't really care and next time I will get some rooting gel.

I'm wondering why I don't seem to be having any cal/mag problems. I did a foliar feed with some cal mag stuff once and thats it. Maybe my tap water has a lot of it? guess I shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth. ;D

I can't help but research all these cool growing methods. I think I'm going to do a 3 gallon hempy bucket with perlite/coco as my 4th plant. Maybe I start it in 2 weeks or so. I don't want to run out of room in my 3x3x6 tent and people have been telling me that 4 plants will be pushing it greatly. :smoke:

I actually saw some white lady parts on the soil plant yesterday. Maybe that means I haven't even begun the stretch yet? those lady parts definitely weren't there a few days ago.

Pics!!

I am kinda wondering how much more they will stretch as well, it looks like you are gonna have some fat bushes that is for sure. I would LST them and get those big branches that are shading the litter ones flater and lower than the lateral branches below it. Instead of the plant on the left having 4 main colas it will have more. the lateral branches will start to grow up in that space. Great looking ladies for sure :) sending positive vibes your way
