Indoor AB Fills the Tent!

Are you using air pots?

They are RediRoot pots, which are basically just a cloth grow bag that fits into a rigid frame. All the benefits of a smart pot, but they're taller and much easier to move around without damaging the plants and roots. Plus they don't sit directly on the floor so they drain better.

What is EP talking about there trying to get rid of peat?

If you want to prolong your watering you can use vermiculite in the mix this will hold moisture longer. Also you can sit the pot in a runoff dish a fill with water and it will wick up the water. Also you can wrap saran wrap around the pot and also cover the top soil with plastic and this will hold moister for quite awhile.

Thanks, Nammy. I think I may try ProMix BX since it is supposed to hold water longer. Or I will mix something up myself with some vermiculite.

I love the Sunshine Advanced #4 that I'e been using but it's very light.

Back again as this grow winds down. The Sour Bubbly was chopped yesterday so we are down to two in the tent. It will probably be a week or so before I harvest those, as I am still seeing some clear trichs on both. The Sweet Trainwreck has been curing in jars for a few days now and has started to regain that sweet smell that I enjoyed so much during the grow.

Day 68

Sour Bubbly - This one tops out at 40" tall and I have to be very careful not to let it tip over with all that top heavy bud. Very dense and thick buds with a really strong lemon scent. Given the feeding and environmental issues, the size of this plant is very impressive.

Purple Amnesia - Still popping out some fresh pistils and showing clear trichs on the lower buds, so this one will go a while longer. Kind of a strange smell to identify - almost meaty or cheesy along with some pungent skunk undertones. Lots of foxtailing so I'm not holding out much hope for the buds to get thicker and more dense.

Spanish Diesel (Day 64) - The cola on this thing is huge and so heavy it's about to rip the roots out of the soil. The whole pot will topple right over when the soil dries out and there isn't much weight to offset the buds. A little foxtailing at the top, but that hasn't affected the density or weight of the colas. Very nice cotton candy sweetness to her aroma, without much diesel at all.

I'll post up some Sour Bubbly harvest pics soon!

Great pictures Andy......

Nammy, I was referring to the European Union (EU) who are trying to save the Irish peat bogs by "preserving" a natural resource and destroying communities in the name of sustainability .
As you can imagine, it is a political disaster. And not working. Nor will it.

 :pass: howdy Sir Bot's! I see your porn-shoot skills are as good as ever!- :eyebrows: :spels::spels::spels: ..that c/u of the young TW- :woody:...catalog-grade pic my friend!

.... I sympathize with the environmental control and tinkering challenges and frustrations,....though I can't say I understand!- --Sometimes I think I have it easy, letting Mother nature take the reigns with all that! 'Course, I'm at her ham-fisted mercy at times as well,...:nono: -- what AC??! :haha: ..agreed, a soil change would be worth a try, if helps hold even moisture longer, no more roller coaster ride in the root zone any more! yeah, the Pro-Mix BX, or I think Botanicare makes a high retention blend as well,...
:woohoo1: Wow, those girlies fattened up rather nicely for you, I'd say! SB turned into a hash bat- Don't you love it when they lean with top heavy weight? ...and what a bud-brick that TW turned out to be! Zero popcorn bud :d5:-LOL! Sweet candy-floral aromatics,... did the grape aroma stay? Funny, I've had that aroma come and go on several plants, but it never sticks around,... *** ... PAm' lost the lemony aromatics, ay? LOL!- a good thing I guess, since you mentioned it's not your fav',...odd though, makes you wonder what perfume she'll toss on next! ..ditto for SpD too  LOL! Regardless, the resin production on them all is superb- ....***.... did you see Rebel's foxtail thread? :smoking:...Very entertaining! I seem to not be able to find any solid answers about this phenomenon,... have you? To date, I've had very little of it, only on Frost Dragons, and not too badly,...
:pimp: Post us some dry-porn when ready, please! :hump: ...Aaand, you're overdue for some cheek-heating love my friend! :slap: --if your wife asks where that mark came from, tell her you were swatting a 'squiter on yer bumm!

Always a pleasure to have you visit, Waira! Yeah, that little Trainwreck was all bud so she made the most of her diminutive size. I just snuck into the jar and gave a bud a squeeze, and found that the sugary sweet smell had faded considerably, but hopefully it will return as it cures. I'll post up some harvest pics of the Sour Bubbly today. During trimming she was full on lemon zest, which does tend to give me a bit of a headache during harvest, but usually mellows into a nice flavor profile after cure. The Purple Amnesia is still a bit citrusy, but still a mix of smells that I wouldn't really call pleasant. And yesterday when I was watering the Spanish Diesel, I brushed a bud and got hit with that unmistakable truck stop smell. I guess the diesel genetics waited until the 11th hour to flex their muscle.

I have not had much foxtailing over the years either, and sometimes it will just be one plant among a bunch of others that are fine. In this case I think it's definitely a stress reaction. I've never found that it has much impact on potency, just bad appeal of the buds. No issue for me since I grow for myself and everything gets a trip through the grinder before vaping anyway...

:pass:

OK, here are the Sour Bubbly chop pics. Very heavy and dense buds, with a strong, almost astringent lemon aroma. Really sticky & it was a chore to keep the scissors clean during the 1-2 hours of trimming! Should go into jars in the next couple of days.
