Doc, when you pulled the branches out to open up the middle during LST, did you leave those branches attached to the side of the pot, or did you remove the slings when you started stretching them? If the slings are removed, will the main colas naturally separate themselves as they stretch, or will they grow into a cluster and compete with each other for light. I have always SCROGed before, and I'm trying only LST this time on my BPK. My plan is to keep pulling the main colas out until they reach the edge of the pot, evenly spaced around the pot, then stretch them to the light. I would like to remove pipe cleaners I use to pull them over to the edge once the reach the edge. Do you think I should leave them on, or would I be OK to take them off?

I use trash bags but I leave them on..... I'm sure you can see them pulling still and trying to go verticle that's only natural. If ypu get the shape you want I would leave them on. If you take them off early they will go straight up

Yeah, I was thinking that's what would happen. Leaving the ties on makes doing chores a little more difficult though, may consider putting together a small one plant SCROG screen to hold the branches out. That will free up the top of the pot. Thanks for the info, Doc. You the man.
