Extraction a Tincture Question

almost 48 hours on a cup warmer trying to reduce the liquid volume and concentrate the cannabinoids.
the liquid volume has reduced by almost half. time to strain out the solids and,get on with the tincture making.
after filtering,suprise,suprise!!! the liquid fills a 16 ounce jar.
at this point ,I can only conclude that the liquid that evaporated while bieng heated,was only water.
the original 16 ounces of glycerine remains. glycerine volume will Not reduce with heating.

the heat has helped the color go from green to a very dark oily amber color, the taste just keeps getting better too!! finger lickin' good!!

maybe next time we will save the solids for a frozen pain rub,but keeping a QP of ground goods around here is a bad idea at the moment.Family and childrens services has the right to come in anytime to inspect the premises for the well-bieng of my grandson, since the final custody decision is still another month or 2 away.

I'm starting to feel a very warming glow all over,but especially my face. I can't stop grinning.
there is really something special about the way a tincture can make you feel.

Sounds lovely. Well done, I like the part your face gets all glowing lol I know that. I haven't made a quality tincture myself, although not through want of trying, I just used an inferior alcohol only 80%vodka and wasted lots of my 1st ever grow lol. I've had that feeling through nice medibles though. I'm sorry for your situation, I'm well envious of your lada.

thanks for the likes and comment, we appreciate it. although I just got to lick the stir stick and the big jar after the filtering, I probably had about a 15ml dose. It started with warmth spreading all over and a feeling of overall well-bieng and total relaxation. I was numb and dumb for 4 hours,very sleepy but smiley faced for another hour. I could have gone to bed and slept but, we had to go out so,I got up and it wore off soon after.
we want to try an alcohol extraction next..the modified Rick simpsons oil using Everclear alcohol.

I hear that. i cant get Everclear here w/out hassle so I'm looking at a glycerine one mmmmm. You've obviously had luck with this batch (after initial ingestion) probs, where did you find your info.

we found several versions on youtube ,then I asked for help here and suggestions. after help from TBM, FD, Wiz, JM and really everyone here,we are self-reliant and can tailor our meds to our needs.

this was our first try at glycerine and probly the last. I think an alcohol extraction with the alcohol distilled off or evaporated off,may be the best use of our resources. When things get going again I'll start a thread .

I would love to gulp down a big spoonful ,but this is meds for my wife. for her discomfort. we hope to make enough edibles for at least 60 days, so I have to restrain myself.

thanks for the help..It seems an Everclear alcohol extraction used to make a modified version of Rick Simpsons oil is most likely our next project. discussion over the alcohol removal process is underway..

many people reccommend heating the alchy mix to get it to evaporate, i find this pretty dangerous in my situation (small apt) so i let it sit by the window with a fan on it and it worked great. also, no chance of cooking off the THC!
It left me a really nice oil layer which i am going to attempt to freeze and make shards of

a couple questions ,if you don't mind....
was the plant matter dried or frozen before adding the alcohol?
how long did the plant matter soak in the alcohol?
does the alcohol taste come through in the finished oil? I love the taste of the plant esters and flavinoids (linalool specifically) ,I would hate to lose that flavor in the meds.
I always ask first before I experiment, makes for a lower failure rate.
oh cool,I was just told that there may be a tincture making (essential oil ) distiller in my near future. What a Christmas pressie that would be eh?
