Hi all, my wife gets through 1-3oz a month of decent home grown buds, most of which I make qwiso with, decarb in an oil bath (which also heat purges any remaining isopropyl) and then dissolve in the UK equivalent of everclear to make a tincture containing around 20-25% by volume oil.
I do it this way because I don't want to muck around with bho and its mystery oil /using an expensive closed loop/etc. 99.9% iso is cheap, food grade 200 proof/95%abv ethanol is not! Otherwise I'd do qwet and evaporate some off.
Ive sussed a technique where I wash a batch with iso, then wash another, and sometimes another. This gives me much more concentrated iso, so I have to evaporate less of that - which is slow going and stinky (nosey new neighbours).
What I'd like is a quick, easy, cheap way to make up tinctures of a similar sort using more than 2 or 3 ounces of bud at a time. It'd be great to make a few months, or a year's even, supply in one go, rather than every month. Any ideas please? Sorry for the rambling post!

Id be tempted to remove the trichs mechanically/old fashion dry sift 2 screens £20 may take more time but wont have the chlorofi an iso or eth wash will.

The mystery oil in butane is a by product of the manufacturing of the tin.if you do a dry run through the closed loop all mystery oil is removed.
But yes they are expensive

Dry sift could work, no dry ice here the UK though! I'll need to look into it, how efficient is it for removing all the cannabinoids? Presumably after collecting all the trichomes, there'll still be some goodies in the plant materials? Might it affect the cannabinoid profile in the final tincture too I wonder? Certainly worth looking into... Or bubble bags even?

dry ice = de twiged and pulverized,its bud in a blender tech.bubbly bags with ice and water is a misserable yielderer.
if cannabinoids are just the trichs ? and everything else is waste material,chorifil/plant matter/dust/water.. i prefare to look at it not as in can it remove all the cannabinoids,but can it remove the trichs and very little else with it.if we to assume that the cannabinoids are just in the trichs it should have no effect on cannabinoiid propfile unless there is some goodness in chrorifil ?
theres a load of tincture threads in med section and in extract and processing section.
wait a minute..............click click click ouch..........you are extracting with iso boiling off to a hard lump then adding 3:1 vodka ? an oz of weed iso extracted and boiled to a lump should fit on a spoon.how are you going through so much vodka ? vodka/ethanol is just the transport all the extract work has been done,any old cheap low % drink will do ?

even though i use iso a qwiso run smoked,im not liking the idea of ingesting it even with a long purge,most home gamers dont have a vac oven.

The green oil machine (name, spelling, everything could be wrong here), I think it's called, then you can use ethanol. There is a thread here somewhere. It extracts the alcohol and puts back in the bottle. Then you can make some more. You can then make the green dragon tincture.

I do qwet and I reclaim my alcohol using a modified water distiller. I can reclaim 80% sometimes a little better. I process usually somewhere around 6 to 8 oz in a day. I have to do two batches because I wash 15 grams in one pint of Everclear. So I end up going through quite a lot of Everclear by the time I'm done. But I know I have real good quality food grade tinctures and I've lab tested some of them.

This is the way a lot of small time dispensaries were making tinctures in my state before we went recreational.
