i think i would use the Hugo blocks although I looked at the slabs as well for value as I noticed u had cut some up.. i know theres a single slab as well.. so maybe a 4 inch block on a 6x6 slab like u mentioned.. what I really like the idea of is net pots or air pots of the mini cubes but sort of feel like pots is defeating the purpose a bit for some reason lol a little 60 x 70cm e&f table is about £70 so that and some grodan and ill be good to go. I'm thinking a little table that size would only hold 3/4 Hugo blocks??

I just ordered a small bag of the grow cubes for experimentation purposes I'll pick up a few blocks as well so I can have a practice with grodan during my current soil SoG.

Happy to hear you’re diving right into it… going to be a piece of cake for you and fun while learning.
You don’t need a reservoir and tray to grow with rock wool… I’ve grown some nice plants with the cube/block just sitting in a simple plastic container… very easy to just pour water in a small container to bottom feed or top feed them if you wish. You would only need to water them once a day and any extra water that settles at the bottom of the container will get wicked up the rock wool within a few hours. You will also be able to grow the hydro plants side by side with your other plants without a problem… would be nice to see a comparison between the hydro and soil plants while growing next to each other.
You should be able to fit 9 of the Hugo blocks or self made 6x6 slabs in the tray you’re considering. The Hellraisers are in a similar sized tray and 9 fit in there without a problem. The little SOG with the 4x4’s ontop of the 4x3” is a interesting way to grow as well. Those 11 little plants are exceeding my expectations and might be producing more than I was originally thinking.

I wish you to succeed! Maybe more light aroud 1000ppfd could help, especcially if could add blue light. In how many days are they going to stop stretching? I guess 1 week….?

Looks like more than half of them have stopped stretching and the others hopefully soon.
I always try to supply at least 35 watts per sqft in my grow area and I’m shy at lease 200 watts on this one. I have a couple 100 Maxisuns on standby but really want to pull this off with only using 600 watts.
