quick update for the BM in DWC ..... Noticed ph rising a bit quick after the last res change.Looks like i have slime getting in again ffs !,i have the pebbles covered over with mylar so dont really get how ??. Anyway the roots had some red staining on them & theres some redihs slime in the res so i have made up a new res with some cannazym added & will try to plug any possible light leaks ,but dont see how there can be any unless the water depth guage is to blame ??.PH was 6.4 this morning & ec had gone upto 1.5(750ppm) form 1.3(660ppm) in 60 hrs ,im just waiting for the nutes to disolve & get the PH right for the res change & hope it doesn't happen again !... but be aware that little gap will concentrate cold air from res and will blow it to the little girl (I made it this way and had my girs hybernated for 5 days, no grow at all)
And I figured out that when I will cower the area near the end of netpot like this

it will eliminate all light leaks.
You can easily check if you will have some light leaks when you lift up your lid for about 1cm and look inside the bucked. (you can see if there is some light coming into the bucked) When you see something like this try to move your hand above the netpot and check when there is no light, to determine where exactly you have a little gap....

Vira... Hold up on the cannazym bro...

Are you sure it's slime & not just a little scum from your nutes etc.. + the red staining on your roots will be more than likely just that... Staining from the Rhizo/sensical etc... So chill brotha.. Don't be adding anything else if you can... Fill those gaps around the net pot with clay pebbles as well..

Ok.. Your res EC is normally gonna rise a little as it completely dissolves... So if you making up a res & you want it at 1.2... When mixing it only use enough nutes to give you 1.1 EC then it will rise a point or two over the next 12-18 hrs... This is the time to keep an eye on your pH & EC.. So if it rises a little to much just pull a L out & replace with a L of plain pH 5.6 water & check/monitor.. Ok..

I suggest you bring your EC down to 1.1-1.2 now for a good few days & monitor.. Closer to 1.1 EC.. Ok

When my plants are too small to shade the bucket.. I just wrap a white tea towel around it as best I can.. That normally keeps the temps down a couple of degrees.. Or stops it warming to fast after a change..

It's up to you Vira to keep a very tight eye on the pH mate.. Check it often after a change.. No scrap that.. Keep an eye on it often every day.. Try not to bring it down more than .1 at a time/every 12 hrs or so..

:smokebuds:hey Kush ,a few times i've dropped the ph from say 6.1/6.2 to 5.7/5.8 ...... is this a BAD thing ???...it only usually takes like 3-4 drops to get there,but 6.2 - 5.7 is 0.5 points & not the 0.1 surgested..... & if its rising 0.1 point or more every 12hrs arnt i gunna struggle to get it in range & always adding down ??

well just use 2 drops and settle for 5.9

ph swing is not a great thing for plants

a dose of zyme should not hurt as a preventative measure but will add to the ec

Thanks Kush & Agito & EVERYONE else Group smoke-outIt's these fine details that make or break a DWC grow im starting to learn !!.For a start your WHOLE system HAS to be 100% airtight (or lighttight) which has to be a hands on process of elimination.Then you HAVE to follow ALL these small details to the letter or it just doesn't work.....I guess the advice i 1st got about how soil is easier ect was bang on & i have become very frustrated at times lol....but once all the easily forgotten or looked over fine print so to speak becomes second nature,than DWC could/should be easy IMHO !.

I think ,take Seymour buds handle for example "autoflowering scientist" says something about his nature & possibly why he's so god damn good at what he does.... im guessing he's very clinicle ,meticulous & oranised in his grows(& maybe in life!!)... the complete opposite of me haha ,i live a hectic ,disorganised life & it may not show in my carefully selected pictures of my grow so far but thats been pretty hectic & disorganised upto now as well.....

So... if i want to get down with DWC i gotta get it together ,take notes , check cab at least twice a day(even if i did only get 3hrs sleep & feel like s**t!) & get a proper routine goin on ,or im going to be struggling the whole time & doing my own head in for no reason lol...rant over
