I am getting ready to start my first hydro grow and have a couple questions. 1) I plan on starting my seeds in rock wool cubes but what do I ph the water at soil values or hydro values? Do to start them on plain water or a small amount of nutes? Also I don't really have a grasp on the feeding schedule for auto flowers. I am using general hydroponics flora system nutes.
Any help would be awesome!!

Hi Rp365....

Ive found it best to soak the cubes for 24hrs in pH water @ 5.8... Always best to soak anything that you will use in your Bucket/tote... Hydro values only.....:D:

Plain pH water until they get there second leaf set(thats not count the first little round leaf)then start out light... No more than 1/4 strengh and build up from there... Its easy to add too much nutrient but really hard to remove....

Hope that helps a little....:smokebuds:

I tried the soak an then to paper towel method this round. Worked great. I fed mine every two hrs 24/7 when I did buckets filled with hydroton. The seeds germinated in peat cubes then put in 8 gallon pots filled with hydroton. 1/4 nutz and def add more nutes slowly. Things can go wrong in a hurry with hydro. Hope that helps. Great luck to your grow.
Edit.. 8 in net pots not 8 gallon

Too true. I felt way overwhelmed my first grow. Now that I am on my second, I feel like I have a much better handle. It gets easier and rhythmic as you grow along. You'll be there in no time, especially with the help from the A.F.N folks.

Thx brothers for the help. I am sure I have many more questions and will post some pics once I get going

So true, I fed mine as I would a photo strain in their early days and it was near disastrous.
The worst nute burn Ive seen and it it took several days of flushing before I even began to see any improvement in the plants.
Good luck with your grow, ask lots of questions and read loads of other posts.
