Hello everyone I will be starting a grow in a couple of weeks and I have a few questions about Dwc .

I will be using a single dwc bubbler and changing the water and nutes every week so do the plants just live off of the nutrients in the water for the week or do I have to keep adding throughout the week ? Also do I need to keep the bucket topped up with water throughout the week or will the water last till the change ?

And how exactly is a water change done ? Do you just prepare your new water with nutes , drain the bucket then add your new water ?

Any help is appreciated and I'm sure I'll have more questions soon so thanks for your patience

I’m also on my first Dwc grow. I haven’t added any nutes after I do a eater change. I just add RO water to top off. And I like to leave about an inch and a half from the bottom of the net pot to the water.

And for a water change. I have an extra bucket. I fill it with RO water and add my nutes stir it all up. Wait for about 10 minutes. Stir again and check my ph and ppm. Than I’ll take the plant out of the original bucket and set it in a clean dry bucket while I rinse the air stones off. Than put air stones in new bucket and add plant! And than your good for another week! Just wave to watch your water level and top off with RO when needed

And the old bucket I like to make a diluted bleach solution to clean it out and scrub it.

And definitely keep your water temp below 72 if you can! And add HYDROGUARD to your nute regiment. It helps protect the roots.

Thank you for the info mate , so I should only add nutes when I swap buckets each week and just keep it topped up with water ?

It will just be normal Ph'd water and not RO water and I will be getting hydroguard .

This is only my second ever grow and first with dwc , your grow looks great btw mate well done and thank you again .

I’ve read that some people will top off with a diluted nute solution. But I haven’t been. And it’s doing great! Maybe more into flower when it’s calling for more nutes. So yes. I’ve just been topping it off with ph’Ed water

Do you have a res or just one bucket? The way I do it is CAREFUL take top off with roots suspended and put in a empty bucket to the side dump out old nutes and clean and add fresh nutes. Make sure you check pH 2x daily morning and night. And until you see roots in water out of net pot top feed with very weak solution bc they need to grow to feed when they are seedlings you add more water as they get bigger you cut back on how much water you give them if you let it drop a lot it's called air pruning roots and you'll get a huge root mass. Any questions let me know I love dwc

You shouldn’t need a drip for Dwc. Your bubbles from your air pump popping should keep your medium as wet as it needs to be
