Lighting A Couple Cobshop Cobs and a couple Mephistos

Outstanding grow! I’d love to see you grow the hubba again. What are the future plans?
Thanks BigSm0, right now I only have one Mephisto Strawberry nuggets going. I slowed up my growing for a liitle bit to adjust inventory. Last grow was pretty bountiful and a couple patients have discovered vape oils and haven’t been requiring as much as they were. I’ll be doing another Hubba in the next couple months. I’ll definitely put up a thread in your section.

With the legalization popping up in many states and people becoming more creative the patient list is dwindling everywhere. I remember a when people would beg for good flower and pay just about anything for it. Now prices have dropped significantly and it’s still hard to move.

Medical legalization has not help much in my area with the grower/processors charging three times the base price that Colorado charges it is still cheaper to buy off the black market. I make decent money and I could not afford to medicate at their pricing. I have a friend on disability and they could never afford the pricing so continues on his prescription pain killers, along with what I give him, because his insurance covers it.

Yes, that’s what I’m dealing with. My wife gets texts from a dispensary with a link to their sales daily. Sometimes I can’t believe the prices. Those oil cartridges for vape pens seem to be quite popular and the enticement of freebies when you spend so much. Right now the closest dispensary is 35 miles away but I expect there will be many soon. My neighboring state will be legal for medical at some point. There has been a couple people that gave presentations at our city council meetings for grow, processing, and sales businesses. So I expect my grows will be somewhat smaller in the future. That will be ok too.

You would think prices would stay higher as you describe. I don’t know if it’s a competion thing of maybe less quality product, but sometimes I tell my wife it looks like it could be cheaper to go there than all the time and expenses I put in to grow. We’ll see what happens down the road.

It should be cheaper and easier but in some newly legalized medical states they are gouging the patients horribly. Here you can purchase a gram of concentratel from the dispensary for $90 or go to your local guy and get it for $30. Of course, you would think legally processed concentrates would be of better quality but the black market stuff is very close. I don’t buy from the black market and won’t since I grow and make my own products. My oil is just as strong as the dispensary it’s just not as pretty. I can even put it in a vape after adding some terpenes to thin it out. I did go thru the process and expense to become a medical patient, just so when they decide to stop ripping off the most vulnerable people and have reasonable prices. I imagine some of that will come when they get around to legalizing recreational in my state or nationally.

This is the reason why so many people come and go. It’s funny I sort of brushed off a comment I read about 2 years ago. Only the strong will survive and the guys growing junk won’t last. While holding double digit #’s of patients. The above is all reasons why the operating cost is so important. It doesn’t matter if it’s one plant or 200 plants. Legalization and hungry growers are flooding most areas. What I can say with confidence is that no one will give you better products than yourself. With all the pesticides and growth enhancers out there I wouldn’t touch the prettiest bud at any dispensary. Last year Cali had something like 80-90% of their outdoor test positive with mold. Heck YouTube how to remove mold from buds.

Another thing is we are at the start of a major trend of indoor vegetable growing as well. At least 50% of my sales at the local shop are people growing food indoors not just mj. I don’t think the world is ending but I can say I’m happy to have picked up the skills to grow.

That’s what I tell my local grow shop guy. The shop I have to drive an hour to get there and only pay cash, so he probably knows I’m lying. :smoking: Although, I did bring him some of my turmeric and ginger root I grow indoors.

@BigSm0 speaking of pesticides and crap and pretty dispensary buds. I could never find info on why labels on buds say "contains citric acid" I assume if they used it as a PH correct it would not have to be listed, in that event medical weed would need an MSDS sheet. So I assume they are washing all the buds with it after harvest ?? Any thoughts, not sure if any of your patients ever asked about the stuff they might get elsewhere.
