Harvest Time - Almost.

I've decided to harvest the fastest of the girls. Ideally I'd give it another week but to be honest I'm sick buying street weed when I have some really nice smoke myself. I took off a bud last week, I've had it hanging for a couple of days and the smell would fill a room :) That's gone into a jar to start curing now so it'll have a few days before the weekend and I'll be able to see what it's really like. I'm guessing I'm going to get about an ounce out of her, but I'm not too concerned as she's one of the smaller ones I have at this moment. She flew into flower, the others have at least another 3 weeks veg on her and they're really showing it now. But I'll be updating with those on Friday.

Anyway, this is some of the last pics of her before she gets locked away on Thursday night, then for the axe on Saturday. I'll probably post one more set of pics of her just after her long sleep and harvest pics on Saturday.

Enjoy.

Harvest time:

I'm seriously pissed I took her down so early. It wasn't till I had her nearly chopped up I saw how much growing she had left to do :( Ah well, she's the early sacrifice to save the rest of the harvest. I had that bud that's been curing for a few days so I'll give a bit of a smoke report as well.

Anyway first the harvest pics and info.

I worked it out, taking away 80% of her wet weight that I should come out with just over 28g's from her. I could have easily doubled that if I'd of left her alone. I'll be posting pics of the others ones still growing and you'll see they're all outgrowing this one nearly 2:1.

Smoke report:

INFO
Strain : Devilmatic
Method Smoked : Joint / Bong

It's taken me 2 days to get myself together enough to post harvest pics and do a smoke report. So you can assume it's been very nice weed.

APPEARANCE

Lovely green colour with touches of purple, orange, very crystally when cured. Nice bag appeal.

SMELL

Dominant smell of bud : Vanilla Ice-cream, Fruity.
Associated smells of bud : Nuts, fruit, skunk. Smells very strongly once ground up. The buds are really sticky and dank looking but the smell when ground up instantly fills the room. When lit, it over-powered the amnesia haze my friend was smoking. That could just be because his was shit though.

TASTE

Dominant flavour : Vanilla Ice-cream.
Associated flavours : Yummy.

Harsh/smoothness : (1-10, 1 being extremely harsh and 10 being extremely smooth) 7 - it's very smooth considering it's only been curing a few days.
- cough factor? : joint no, bong - oh my word yes.

BUZZ

Profile : Percentage of head to body (e.g. 80% head 20% body) 70% head (strong stone in the middle of the head)
Potency : (1-10, 1 being extremely weak and 10 being extremely potent) 7
Duration : (approx length of buzz, from first hit) 2 hours since my last hit and I'm still blasted. Usually calms down after the first hour and turns into a nice long lasting happy buzz.
Use : Daytime/Bedtime: Depending on mood, I'd say both.
Munchies? : yes/no - Never get them so I don't know.

Nice report mate!

Was nice watching the grow.

It's not over yet mate :) Still have 15 to go, she's just the early sacrifice because I ran out of weed and didn't want to buy any this close to harvest.

Music: ???
Pot type: As Above
Lighting Type: 600w HPS
Light Schedule: 24 / 0
Nutrients: Advanced Nutrients Bloom/ Hammer Head.
Feeding: Every 3rd day, full feed. Watering every other day.
Grow rooms smell: Smells like Lemon and ice cream. Have a few diesely smelling buds popping their heads out though.

Info: With the one I harvested out of the way I can finally turn my attention to the big girls. And the one in particular, I call Cthulhu for she will emerge long after her sisters and completely destroy me. She's the biggest of the plants, standing at about 3.5 feet, and has buds about the length of my elbow to the tip of my finger :) All of them have fairly big buds now in fairness as you can see. Each of the main colas at the minute are between 3 - 4 inches tall with good growth through out the nodes. This is due to me rotating the plants so that they spent at least 6 hours a day, elevated at the edge of the grow area so they get a good amount of light through them into the lower bud sites.

I've also done a comparison I like to call "Friends don't let friends grow in small pots." I wanted to see the difference in yield and size between a 7ltr pot and a 14 lt pot. The pictures are the last ones and as you can see there is a considerable difference.

I think I'm well on track for harvest. Enjoy the pics.

Edit: First 2 plants are the LSD. I think they're at 3 weeks. I haven't looked back to check.

Info: I'm updating with the 2 LSD, a few shots of most of the grow room, and 3 of the plants I think. They're the biggest ones next up for the chop, I'm praying they'll be ready to come down next week. I didn't realise they'd gotten so big, tonight I decided to take out the measuring tape for the first time in a long time. Each of these plants are 30+ inches tall. Buds are looking really nice and healthy now and are beginning to fill out at the bottom. They're not going to turn into full branches of weed but I will get all of those bottom buds up to a decent size using my current rotation and lighting regime. I'll be dropping the light from 24/0 thus far back down to about 14 / 10 from next week.

I haven't included the biggest plant in this update because I'm right in the middle of training her and I think it will be more dramatic for you, and a better historical record for me, to see the change in her after 2 weeks. But I'll mostly likely give in and update with her later on this weekend.

Anyway enjoy the pics.

great stuff bro well done

Starting today I've dropped the lights to 18 / 6. My plan is to run it there for 2 days, then down to 14 then down to 12 / 12 for the end of harvest. Also it'll let me start the LSD flowering, they both look like they'll turn into monsters :) So hopefully I'll be finishing this journal in the next 2 weeks.

Week 11 - The waiting game.

All of the plants in this update will be harvested at the end of this week (possibly even on Christmas day), with the exception of the beast who's been under wraps for the last 2 weeks. I'll be updating with her after 4am.

I have to charge the camera and wait for the light to come back on so I can get the last pics of one of the other plants. Not really a lot to say in this entry so the pics can speak for them selves. 4 different plants this update I think. Still not the biggest one.

Enjoy
