I am thinking about adding one of these 600w Blackstars to my setup. I found a good deal on one from somebody but i don't know a couple things about them. Are they still the same as the 240 Blackstars? I got 2 of them and they are 3watt but this 600 watt is claiming to be 2watt leds. Also i tried to see if they sell the 600's in veg and flowering models. i could only find the flowering models available but this guy does not know which one he has. Just need some info whether these could be older units.... it has a good price of $450. Or would it be better to just add another 240w for the $275

you would be better going for two BS (flowering) 240s, having two lights allows you to vary the position of each one in a way that you couldnt with a single large one., or you could start a second chamber with another grow. At least you will know what you are getting with the 240s and it would give you a lot more flexibility . For $100 extra thats a lot of pluses

Can't say that I've ever seen a grow done with that light. I don't believe it was ever available in a veg model. I think that was only the 240.

Yah veg model is only available in 240w right now. Honestly with autos you will not need to use a veg panel anyway. Buying multiple small panels is better in the long run and I put 4 240w units in my 4x4 tent so I practice what a preach.

Yea I did a little research and it is slightly larger than the 240 maybe about 5" longer. Seems that the model has slightly weaker penetration but a more even light coverage. I was kinda just shooting bids on eBay and won it at $450. They sell new for $680 and a used 500 Watt sells for more than 500. I think I might just tell the Guy to realistic or second chance the bid. I think I would be happy with just adding another 240 and save a couple hundred for more dirt and beans

Blackstar is top notch. Dont waste your money on veg LEDs, the ones geared toward flowering do extremely well for the veg stage. I hope the guy selling the light isnt selling you a light with rows out for that price, but if he is you can send it back to blackstar and they will ship you another for free. LEDs are catching up to MH/HPS FAST. In face I run a single thousand watt HPS for my plants and the powerbill is so high im thinking about switching to LEDs. The product is very good and the powerbill will go wayyy down.

Honestly I passed on the unit. I'm just going to add a 3rd 240 blackstar. Use the money saved on other things. Might try one of the 2012 models. The blackstars don't even hardly affect my bill as I try to.cut a couple lights elsewhere
