Outdoor 6 x Mandala Safari Mix (Photo, Reg)

This is a photo of Mandala's Hashberry from their gallery. NOT MY PHOTO! :p
I'm fairly confident that this Female [HASHTAG]#2[/HASHTAG] Safari cross is at least part Hashberry.

Much rain over the last few days, maybe 100mm = 4" since the weekend.
That's going to flush the soil heavily, I know. I hope those organic pellets are helping.
I have some other potash and dolomite lime mix ready, and full strength CaliMagic and Sensi Bloom.
Will use this tonight, rain is already easing off now. Hand water means more water, but also some nutes.

In the meantime, a photo or two from a couple of days ago.
The trimmed buds that had the bud rot.

Presently drying.

Mandala Safari (Indica Pheno) - Test Buds + Seeds

Hey there AFN amigos and amiga!
After trimming those little bud-lets that had a little bud rot, they've been drying for a couple of days at about 40% RH.
Those little buds were actually the ones that had been pollinated.
And so I think that the pollination and seed formation may have partly induced the bud rot. Hmmm.....

They're not ready to smoke just yet, but here's a couple of photos.
Also including the seeds - most were immature, but at least three are perfectly mature, big, brown and tiger striped!

I'm thinking that the smoke won't be anything massive, but there are some nice crystals there!!

I have been out of town for a couple of days, so need to go check these ladies to make sure no further bud rot forming.
End of this week should be day 70 = week 10 total grow time, but day 49 = week 7 flowering.
If she's an early Indica pheno, then we are just starting to get into possible maturation time.
Of course, all things dependent on the actual plant herself.

Spring harvest is coming soon, my friends!!!!!!!!!!!!

Day 69 (Flowering Day 48) - Mandala Safari Mix

I hadn't checked these two for a few days, and the weather has been pretty horrible, lots of rain, fog.
After the couple of buds with bud rot, I was afraid that it would be spreading.
I was not wrong..............

Female [HASHTAG]#1[/HASHTAG] - Hybrid Pheno

She had a couple of little bits of rot, which I removed.
Still has quite a few weeks to go, if the weather will let her.
Phone died after this photo, and had to deal with her sister, so only one photo. Sorry!

Female [HASHTAG]#2[/HASHTAG] - Indica / Afghanica Pheno
She's a chunky thick looking lady, even if she's just a single big cola.

And if you're paying attention, apart from the yellowing leaves, yes, she's got some bud rot....
Warning: NSFW! (Haha!) Oh, and bugs, too....

So, I had to do the cut and trim in the field. Luckily it wasn't raining at the time.
I hate cutting down when the plants are still wet. It is just not good at all.
Took down the lower little branch buds, removed any rot from them.
Took down the main bud, about 20cm = 8", pretty solid all things considered, removed rot, and bagged it all.

Back inside, here's a couple of shots. (I've rolled her over so you can't see her battle scars so much....)

Main cola on the right, a half dozen little buds on the left.
I should weight this wet (literally, very wet!), for comparison.
Guessing dry weight will be.... 1/2 oz or so, 15g.

She's now drying in a paper cabinet, RH 40%-60%.
Outside, the weather report last night said RH 98%. I kid you not.

Things could be worse. At least I got this much! And her sister's still doing okay.

Love and hugs,
MJS

I believe you may have the harshest growing climate i have even seen!! Kudos to you for trying!! Would a rain shield be feasible?

It's a nice idea, but guerilla style, it would attract too much attention.

I don't think it's that harsh. When I see guys like you and @trailanimal with all that snow... now that's pretty darn harsh!

I'll keep going. Should really try some strains that are super mold resistant.
Like Mandala Purple Paro Valley or White Bhutanese, or Green House AMS, stuff like that.

In the meantime, hey, I still got some nice buds there!!!!

Had a little sample of the earlier picked little buds.
Nice and sticky. Packed a small bowl, then dropped the bowl on the floor....
Was about to cuss a little.
But the chop was just nicely stickied inside the bowl. Didn't lose a drop.
Thought that may mean it's too wet to smoke.
Light up anyway... it burned remarkably easily.
Nice minty fresh taste, not harsh at all!!!
Had a nice afternoon walk, just as the rain eased... but the clouds are still thick.
Encountered monkeys.
It's a nice high. Nice visual buzz.
Will try a bit more later.
