Hello I am new here and new to growing. I have been observing this site for awhile and it inspired me to try to grow some of my own. I will be keeping up on this thread as well as I can. I could not find much feedback in terms of grow journals that used the same light or fan, so hopefully I can shed some light on the quality of these products at the end of the grow. Here we go!
I am on day 14 from sprout and switched to the LED after 6 days. I had them under a 96 watt T5 and a 125 watt CFL before the LED.
Space: Growlab GL80 tent 2'7"x2'7"x5'11"
Light: Apollo Horticulture Purple Sun 300 watt (power draw is stated as 180 watts)
Medium: Soil. House blend from local hydro store. It was recommended to me by an experienced local grower. I will have to ask what is in it next time I am there.
Nutrients: Fox Farm trio
Specialty Equipment you've obtained: Cyclone 4" fan 165 CFM (inexpensive and so far seems to be of quality and fairly quiet), Ipower 4"x12" carbon filter (also inexpensive, but when I first got it I put my stinkiest bag inside the tent and could not smell anything outside the tent), Sunleaves Blueprint fan speed controller(dialed down as far as it can go). I am working on getting something for pH measurement.
Strains: Wipeout Express from Heavyweight Seeds, and a freebie Super Skunk auto from Vision Seeds. All are feminized.
Today I had a rental inspection and had to take everything down and store the plants in a cabinet. I was happy that the yearly inspection came this early in the process and am glad it is out of the way. Now that I know everything is in the clear I decided it was the right time to start a journal. For my first grow I would say that everything is coming along nicely so far, although I did do some minor damage to one of the wipeouts when small clip fan fell on it today and halfway broke one of the lower leaves. It was still mostly attached so I propped it up with a soft wire tie.
Anyway, I gave them their first dose of Grow Big today (1/4 strength).
