Indoor 2nd Autogrow: Paradise Seeds - "Pandora" (fem) under 90 Watt LED in 15inch x 20inch x 6 foot closet

Hello everyone just wanted to update on here about something i spotted last night. I was looking at her and notice 2 tiny little round orange spots on one of the big leafs. I felt the spot with my finger to see if any rusty residue would come off but it didn't so im happy it's not mould and it looks identical to the calcium def pics you can find here and online. The soil was still very slightly damp and was trying to wait for it to dry out first before watering so i went to bed last night and got up this morning and it's progressed faster than i thought it could! lol. Anyway i gave her some of the plant magic magne cal+ and i'll see how that goes. I'll get some pics of her after work today in natural light just to document it and to show you how much she has grown since last time :)

Here is the damage i have encountered and some pics of her in general :) If anyone thinks its no calcium def and something else please let me know! I don't want it to get worse!

Just thought id come along and add some more pics. I got one of a leaf that seems to be effected with over abundance of nitrogen. Got more of the leaf damage progression aswell from the lack of calcium/magnesium in the 2nd last watering. As long as i keep giving her the magne cal+ it should be fine i hope! Also i noticed a couple of white hairs poking out so she's starting her preflowering phase. Up untill now i've had her on 24 hours of light and i reckon thats maybe why she got so compact and bushy because the temp has been pretty much constant in there. Now that i can see those preflowering hairs sticking out im going to give her 4 hours of darkness starting form tomorrow. Theres a really nice smell coming from her already that i can't even describe......i need to work on my smell pallette vocabulary lol.

Hey guys,i just noticed something today when i checked the bottom of the airpot. There are hundreds of tiny white roots all sticking out the bottom of the pot maybe like 1cm long. They are all bright white and furry. Is this normal?

I built the airpot correctly with the holes at the bottom and the soil retainer is a couple of inches off the bottom of the closet floor so theres plenty of air under there and i also have a small fan always blowing. The humity has been pretty much a constant 45% up untill a couple of days ago. It's now up to 60% - 70% range and temps are almost bang on 25c only dropping or climbing a couple of degrees throughout the day.

It happens.

Not meaning to hijack your thread with my pics. Say the word and I'll pull them, no problem.

Wow thats a monster and makes me feel better about the roots now lol. Hope mines can reach that size! Oh and i don't mind people hijacking ma thread with pics so hijack away!

BTW what size of airpot did you use? Is that a 20 litre?

Cheers!

More like 12 or 15 liters Or 3 gallon over here. I shrunk the diameter a bit to better fit 3 in my cab.

I had no idea that root action was going on until just then when I pulled it for pics. It was all contained within the base.

omg!!!!! You have 420 posts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Omg!!!!!!! Lol

Just installed my carbon filter inside the closet. It was a very tight fit but i barely managed to squeeze it in lengthways. The fan was actualy a bit bigger than i expected but it's doing the job nicely and it isnt too loud although im going to build a box with soundproofing inside and stick it ontop of the closet just to make it as quiet as possable. Is there any precuations i need to take when doing this? Will the fan not overheat if its enclosed in a box or does the air it moves help cool it down?

Hey 420ing, I just looked through your grow and let me just say it's looking great, your plant is healthy and lush, look at all that undergrowth and leathery leaves - beautiful. The spotting definitely looks like cal-mag to me, especially since on the leaves affected there is a slight chlorosis (veins darker than the rest of the leaf), so continue the cal-mag treatment and foliar is a good option.
My two cents regarding the seedling you lost in the beginning - the symptoms you describe perfectly damping off - it's a fungal disease the seedlings are prone to when overwatered, so maybe in the future you could make sure the root cubes are less wet and just moist enough, to avoid this :)

I'm glad to see you managed to fit the carbon filter in the cabinet although it's a tight fit - it will pay off by giving you a peace of mind when flowering starts. Sound-proofing the fan is a good idea (I wish I had enough DIY skills do attempt it unfortunately I'm utterly useless), I have heard that potential problems depend on the type of the fan - mixed-flow fans are self-cooling hence should not overheat, whereas centrifugal ones might pose more of a challenge. Then again I suppose it depends on the usage you're getting out of your fan - in such a small cabinet and under LED I'm assuming you don't plan on keeping it on full all the time so maybe you are going to be ok? Let us know :)

Either way all the best and also Happy New Year to you! :Ohmmm.......:
