looking great bro! keep it going! as far as the akr being smaller, no worries bro, once you get to day 35 ish, they literally just EXPLODE! trust me, you ain't seen nothing yet! :pop:

Thanks Grow! I look at her as the old tried and true tested gal from the Middle East. She'll grow when SHE wants to grow! lol

Dream-For sure man. I would never have been able to gage how big/little the La Diva may have been, being this is my first grow and all. Ive just been watching her side by side with the AKR, and she has been booming from day 1. Toss up a pic and lets see how your doing.

day 43 akr3 closeup.jpgday 43 akr 3.jpgday 43 akr 3 kola.jpgday 43 akr 2.jpgday 40 akr 2 nugz.jpgok these are my most updated pics..each are labled. But just to give you an example of what to look for at day 43..today is day 45 i think. I gave a pic of 2 different pheno's that i have. One is very short, bushy, and loaded with bud sites. The other is very tall, but still is holding her own, just not quite as good yet..im still a very proud daddy, especially for my first time.

Nice going man! How many are you growing again? Whats the smell factor like these days?

well ive got 3 akr's and ive got 4 different varieties of white widow photo plants, of which ill be switching the light schedule to 12/12 once i harvest my auto's. once i harvest the photo's, then im planting 5 la diva's, and 5 more that i havnt bought yet...im thinking dutch passions auto blueberry. the smell factor, well, its very potent. if i dont have my carbon filter running, the whole house smells like ive got a bag of danky dank in the closet. but its not so bad that the whole block i live on stinks. its got a subtle skunk/hashy smell..i personally love it, but again im a newbie so ive got nothing to really compare it to. thanks though!

Yeah, it's the only part Im a bit worried about. I have my girls set up in my laundry room (my house I own). Since the growth spurt I swear every now and then when I walk in there I smell some sticky sticky. Which kinda freaked me out, Im thinking "Holy cripes! They are under a month old and already smelling?!?!?". Again, Im only growing two plants, and the La Diva is said to have a fruity smell, which I assume may counter the strong funk of the AKR! Hoping I can get away with some air freshener come flowering time, cant have the WHOLE house stinking. Not that Im concerned about neighbors, it's a pretty stay to yourself neighborhood, and were not on top of each other by far. More concerned about that look of "really" from my wife if we come home one day and the house smells like Snoops tour bus!

Hey Atpmixx,

Many thanks for the kind words on my grow.

I was just having a good read of your adventures to date. Great job The ladies are looking really well. Growing is serious fun! I had to laugh at your last post. I’m living that post! "The smell"

I must say the smelly strips I picked up today were really strong. I should have wore gloves handling them because i have bleached my hands four times already and I can’t shift the smell off my hands.
Vaportek was the brand (I swear i don’t work for them and I’m not being paid to advertise the product) I’ll let you know in a couple of days how good they work. They were dirt cheap as well.

The smell off the plants is amazing though isn’t it! I got such a great feeling the first time I opened the tent and got that aroma. Made the whole experience real, if you know what I mean.

I look forward to reading more.

All the best

Oldboy

hahaha..that wife look really hits home for me too. anyhow, anythoughts on a carbon scrubber? for the filter/fan combo it cost me $170 u.s., and i live in a town house, so well worth my investment. its not really my neighbors im worried about, its even a remote chance the cops come here. I have a wife and kids, and that would just be mortifying to come home from work to a couple detectives waiting for me. anyhow, if thats a concern of yours too, i would definetly invest in a carbon filter. if the money's an issue, there are videos on youtube that show how you can make your own for pretty damn cheap..something you may wanna consider. hope i helped! oh yeah, and my house started smelling at exactly 28 days, just an fyi. i keep a great personal grow log here at home..lol

Oldboy, Ill have to check on that product. Ill do some digging to see if they are available here in the states. But yes, the smell is GREAT! Really makes all the hardwork seem to payoff before the actual payoff of some good product!

Grow, haha We MUST be living the same life. Same deal, wife and kids at home, luckily they are young enough to where I can get away with this grow out in the open. I assume once they hit school age Ill have to go stealth. But yeah, a little bit of me goes, "What if the cops show up?". It would be a devastating blow because I am what you may call a "public figure" in my neck of the woods. It would be front page news if it would ever happen. Which is odd because I have quite openly been an advocate of medical marijuana reform in my state (where MMJ laws three times now have died in committee). Im sure championing the cause and growing some plants are a world apart in the public eye. The $170 is a bit high of a cost for me, I may try Oldboy's method first.

haha yes, we must be...anyhow, yes the it can be pricey, just remember what the investment is for though~and as i mentioned there are do it yourself carbon filters for cheap as well, its actually a pretty simple contraption. just my two cents my friend.
