New Grower 1st Time Grower vs Mephisto NCH

Ok day 33 no major changes, all seems well in my novice eyes. She is about 18 inches tall, and almost as wide. She sits 24inches below my diy fixture dimmed to about 120 watts. Update again in about 2 days as the weather in my region is all over the place, 2 days ago high of 40f, today it's 80f and tonight it's supposed to dip back in the 40s. Not normal, it's usually at least 75-80f average this time of year. Winter is not ready to leave yet.

Everytime I look at your plants and see that little yellow card covered with what looks like bugs, I'm surprised at how well your plants are doing. They appear to look just fine. Maybe I'm seeing something stuck to those stickies besides bugs?

Anyway, if you're in the area where root aphids are a common problem you need to put something on top of your soil like clay Pebbles or a barrier of sand keep the aphids from getting down in the soil. They have a larva stage down there and they'll eat your roots and then they fly up above and that's when you catch them.

Ok I'll pay Verizon close attention to the cards. I have a product called gnatrol that I top dress and water in.
It's the main reason I do this with my seedlings. A couple inches of really well washed clay Pebbles will keep the knats out, well washed because they're highly alkaline and will mess up your pH. Often when you have knats it's a symptom of over-watering, although your plants look really healthy like I say.

I have had that scourge myself hate them with a passion. You don't even know you have them until it is too late.
