New Grower 1st Time Grower vs Mephisto NCH

Day 29, 10" tall. Fed water and calmag with great white. pH 6.5. one concern I have is that I've watered until runoff at about 10% by pouring too fast, did it twice. Have I washed away enough of the supersoil to make it not as hot or weakened it? I don't think you have washed away much (if any) by watering until 10% runoff. As for salt, you mention Supersoil which has come to mean (at least IMO) GBD's Supersoil Mix which is totally organic, so no worry about salt(s) buildup. You got the right idea, water a bit more slowly and let the soil absorb the water before adding more. I Have a 10 fluid ounce watering cup that I use, 10 ounces at a time with a minutes or two in between until I see a couple of ounces runoff. It has worked for me. In a 5 gallon pot, I began to see GBD's SS mix NOT providing enough "feed" at about day 50, in the form of blotchy yellowing. That wouldn't have been much of a problem if my MG Double Grape would have been 65-75 day plant as described. But things don't always go as planned (and I made mistakes, that I've learned from), and she had only started flowering a couple days beforehand. So the need for additional organic nutes was needed. Keep reading your plant (pictures help every 5-10 days to help you remember), she will tell you what's going on. Good Luck, I am going to follow along as NCH is a variety I am not familiar with.

When I do General thinning, meaning I'm not trying to purposely slow down the Plant, I'll take just one leave from each main stem at a time. First I look for inner leaves that are covering the most nodes, try to find a big fat one covering two or three nodes. Mostly starting off you stick to the interior of the plant, because that's where you're going to find the leaves that are covering up the most Bud sites. I probably wouldn't take more than 4 or 6 total off that plant at one time. Then I would probably just wait a few days to see how she responds.

It seems like cannabis are a lot like cherry trees, if you can clean out small growth near the center/base of stem of plants to achieve light penetration and airflow across the stem/branches, they grow faster with much heavier fruit loads. That isn't 100% scientific, but it is my opinion from experience with both maintaining cherry tree orchards, as well as doing side by side comparisons with outdoor photo period's and auto's. Also, in my opinion, indoor this is simply three times as critical as outdoors, as indoor lighting simply does not compare to the sun's ability with light penetration.

Thanks everybody but I must say this wouldn't even be happening if not for this forum. I'm looking forward to my first harvest and I owe to this wonderful community. Now ol' girl is doing fine just growing like crazy, I'm at work but it's day 32 and she was fed 6.8 pH tap water with cal mag and great white ( I mistakenly said recharge earlier in the thread). I'll take pics this afternoon after work.
