New Grower 1st Grow Royal Queen Northern Light

Had today off so I figured I'd give the girls a watering in the sink and let them out of the room for a bit while I washed it down and sanitized it. The one on the left is NL and FD on the right. I was thinking about moving the FD outdoors today but Mother Nature decided to turn down the thermostat a bit more than the forecast so I think we have at least another week.

Currently giving 1/3 FF Nutes with about 2L of water per 3 Gal pot.

So... Today the closet started to look a little full, I figured it was time to move FD outside to the greenhouse. Problem I had is the GH temp was 3C lastnight. Now I could put a space heater in there, but that would defeat the whole 'Saving Energy' part of the greenhouse. So I present to you the ghetto fabulous engineering that is my greenhouse heater.

Made me a fancy little hoop tent over the girls using residential electrical wire (stiffest bendable thing I had within 50ft of me) and covered it with some Reflectix insulation, with a little poly plastic as I was using scraps and it made a semi opaque window.

Then I found me a 40 watt incandescent bulb for a heat source.

temp has already dropped to 7 but the tent is holding at 15

Here are a couple pics, I will get some pics of the girls with the next watering.

SO i think we are on day 33 for the NL and 31 for the FD. Both started showing signs of magnesium def so I added a little cal-n-mag to this feeding (only had it on hand because of all the info I have read here, thanks guys). NL is right around 46cm and bushy as all get out. FD is at 42cm and stretching its legs. I'm sure part of this is due to strain and part to the fact that the weather has been pretty over cast but I did add a couple little supplemental CFL to the greenhouse.

Popped another FD bean into soil to take advantage of the sun while it is still visible. 64.5 North doesn't get much light in the fall/winter/spring (come to think of it, that might be all our seasons).

sorry guys I know its been a while,

So i think we are on day 64 for the NL and 62 or so for the FD. Things have been going great, Northern Lights is still indoors and the Frisian Dew is still kicking it in the green house. Lower then normal temperatures hurt the vertical growth on the FD a bit I think but everything is filling out nice and the color is amazing. The indoor guys have been hanging out in around %45 RH. They are taking 4L every couple days along with 1 Tsp of the fox farm trio (1.25 of tiger) and a TBSP of molasses. Out door the waterings are less frequent due to the RH (%90 some days) but I have been giving them a good foliar. The FD is hungry as hell for CalMag(getting 1.5 tsp per gallon) while the indoor guys seem to be happy with half the dose, I am not sure if this is strain or temperature dependent or what the hell ever factor.

Just for fun I started a comparison grow of two FD next to eachother, one DWC and one in Promix BX.... Promix is out performing 2 to 1 but it may just be the fact that I know nothing about dwc, keeping a personal journal but nothing exiting really happening there.

*Edit
Also I have been fluctuating the water PH in random ranges between 6.2 and 6.5 as I read the spectrum helps with nutrient absorption.

And now, for your viewing pleasure... some pictures.
