Hello everyone!

This is my first grow ever so I'm excited and a bit nervous to do everything right.

At first I wanted to do outdoor growing but since I don't want to cause everyone trouble and paranoia and I personally don't have a good garden to be able to go stealth, and could get my hands on some cash so I just buy the lights and will do it indoors. I have a pretty big room that was a garage but the house was built long time ago and cars cant fit there (in my country we had pretty small cars 30 years ago) so its empty and the walls are white-which is maybe good for light reflection- so I dont buy a tent either, still a bit tight on money.

*13l home made airpot-not the best but thats what we have for now
*Medium: Plagron Light Mix and 10% coco
*Nutes: Bionova Autoflowering Supermix till flowering, then adding PK13-14. In the store they said its the basics. CaMg if needed. First week I give them water only.
*Lights: 400w MH for growth, 400W HPS for flowering with cooltube. Probably 18/6, have no AC in that room so the hottest hours lights will be off. At night the door will be wide open so I can get rid of the smell and cool the room a bit.
*a basic vent

I germinated my seeds in wet paper towels for about 60 hours. One of them was way ahead in that stage and still keeping her advantage.

My seedlings are outside right now, I'm gonna go today and buy the lights, have to travel a bit for it but thats allright.

Day 3 in the soil.

Wish me luck!

I already have 2 questions.:smoking:

1) in the growing room I have several spiders inside. Cleaned up the room a lot, but still have at least 10 spiders there, some of them carrying eggs. Do they make harm to my plants?

2) since at first I planned with outdoor growing I started them outdoors then changed my mind. Tomorrow I will be home with the new lights but I'm thinking about whether I should make them get used to the lights. Don't want to shock them or something. Any idea guys?

Thanks.

I've never had an issue with spiders and my thought is the spiders can eat all the real pests.

Also I don't think switching from natural light to artificial light would have any major impact at this stage.

Good luck. I doubt if the spiders will harm the plants

Thank you for the answers!
Didn't really think spiders do any harm for the plant (plain logic) but asked anyways, better to be safe than sorry!:d5:

Today I bought the HPS and MH light as well, so tomorrow will set up my growroom. (OFF) I dont like to say bad about people, but fuck the woman in the store was a bitch! She asked if I'm a beginner in growing and I said yes. I told her I only need the light set. She tried to convince me with the worst possible tone in her voice that I need a tent set. I said I have plenty room and will use floor vent and windows/door to keep the temperature under control. She said "ohhh okay so why dont you just go outside and spew your seeds somewhere and just let them grow without touching them". When I asked why tent is so necessary she said "cannabis is a very precious plant". 2 customers were in the store and said that tent is absolutely not necessary in my situation. One would expect that you would meet a friendly stoner clerk in a growshop. lol Told her she is lucky today cause I traveled a lot to buy the set but under different conditions I would never spend a dime here. I guess she was mad that she couldnt convince me to spend 500 $ there, spent 200$ total.

You will get this with a lot of growers shops mate. You will go in needing just 1 product and come out with 10. I think you don't need a tent if you have the room and some of the better grow rooms I've been in have not had a tent in sight. Yes tents are great but if you have the space/area and time to build your own grow area Imo this is always going to be better than a tent?

Thank you for getting this grow diary going and I'll be along for the ride

All the best

D-M.

Luckily my grow shop near me is a totally cool guy and he will tell me everything about the product i bring to the counter. He's not one of those " Only use this product it's the best!!" I hate those people.
The spiders are a good thing to have as long as they dont make a lot of webs and they aren't poisonous. Me personally i hate spiders but if i see one in my grow room that wont hurt me, i'll let him be.

Good luck on the grow! The only problems i've ever had with light changing was 2 things. 1.) I went LED back to HID and the plant got kinda stunned for a little bit. Nothing major. 2) I started some bag seed outside to do a test run in between runs but failed to realize that bad bugs live outside and they layed eggs in my soil. When i brought them inside it was almost perfect conditions for bugs to thrive and they did. This is when i made the transition to hydro LOL.

@Dinafem-Mark Yeah there's nothing bad with that, thats their job and I honestly don't mind spending extra dollars in a store where I get nice service. With this woman my only problem was her style, at first she with a normal tone tried to convince me to buy the whole tent set. I said nicely that I don't really need the tent set, only need the light set and then she changed her way of talking. Haha cant imagine this can convince anyone to spend more money there.

@fatcalvin the incident with the bugs must have sucked, hopefully they didnt fuck up my soil

Not too much change today other than it took half day but the set is assembled so hopefully they will start to grow more intensely. Last couple of days were gloomy outside so no wonder I don't see too much changes from day to day.
Probably tomorrow will start feeding them, slowly increasing the dosage.

The 400w MH is pretty piercing, on Monday I should put covers on the windows , probably noone cares there's light in the room all night anyways but its just how I roll, dont want to gamble on stuff like this.

Will post pictures as I see any noticable changes.

Cheers!
