DSC_0145.jpgDSC_0144.jpgDSC_0143.jpgDSC_0147.jpgThis is my first auto grow. Never heard of autos until 3 months ago when I decided to start a grow. Last time I grew was in the 70's. Things have changed alot since then. After reading more on autos and the information on this forum I was hooked. Figured I had nothing to loose trying autos.
My room is 6ft L X 3ft W X 6ft H. Starting with 400W mh and switching to 600W hps when flowering starts. Soil is promix in 3gal pots. Planning to use IGUANA juicebloom with NIRVANA from A.N.
I am 1 month into the grow and all plants are looking good. Some of the plants have a yellow/browninsh colour on the tip of some leaves. I don't think its something to worry about yet.
Have included a few pics.
Any information I can get would be greatly appreciated.

I wouldn't worry about the tips. Mine discoloured a little at the start as well. It was due to the light. I also got weird brown spots that gradually got lighter on the leaves I was freaking out about that turned out to be where the water splashed when I was feeding them and the light bleached that spot.

Those plants look really green, lush and healthy. The phenotype also looks a lot like mine and I'm about 2 - 2.5 weeks from harvesting my first two if you want to take a look. Just search Devilmatic.

With the autos I wouldn't give them much nutrients until they've properly started. I began after they were about a month old on a 1/4 dose of what the nutes said to give. I haven't added any more than 1/4 but now, in flowering, I'm feeding them with every watering, or every second watering. They seem to really like that. Also, I've had mine under 600w HPS since week 2, on 24/0, and I have to say they're really thriving. My plants are already bigger than the max indoor height given by the breeder and look like they're going to yield up over an ounce each on the big pots.

Anyway if you have any questions feel free to give me a shout. I'm always lurking. I'll subscribe to this as well to keep an eye on them.

Stealth and speed to you.

Thanx Skobywan. Any information at this point is just what I need.

Cheers

Hi Kloaker, welcome to the New Growers Forum. I'm Muddy, and along with Joe Dirt, we moderate this forum. I grow using Pro Mix so am well acquainted with the techniques and issues of soil less growing. Got a couple questions for you. Are you using straight Pro Mix, which one, HP or BX and have you amended it at all? If so, what did you use? Also, have you fed them yet and if so, what and how much? Unless you had your light too close you really shouldn't have any brown leaf tips and it could be an early indication of a possible deficiency. Also, do you have a pH meter? If so, what's your pH?

We're here to help, so anything questions you have, ask away.

Muddy.
Thanx for the response. The soil I have was given to me from a bud. I was told it was Pro-mix, but after reading your post I called him to clarify. Seems its not what I thought it was. Turns out its Sunshine mix #4. The only thing the plants have had in the way of food is water. I am waiting for my PH pen to show up as its not avail locally. Iv'e been using PH strips for now. Been keeping my PH at 6.0. Room temp is around 75-85F. Running 1 fan. Light is kept about 20 inches from plant tops.
Again thanx for any info.
Cheers.

Sunshine #4 is basically the same as Pro Mix. Both primarily consist of sphagnum peat moss, perlite, starter nutes, and lime. It is considered a soil less mix so your pH should be the same as what is used in hydro. I don't know how accurate your strips are but you want it a little lower, about 5.8. You also need to start feeding them. Since the Sunshine mix only has starter nutes and your plants are a month old, you've probably used them all up by now. That would account for the brown leaf tips, a lack of nutrients, especially nitrogen, which is very much needed during vegetative growth. When growing soil less you should start mild nutes, 1/4 strength, at 2 weeks, gradually increasing strength to at least 1/2 if not full strength. In soil less grows it's also advisable to supplement calcium and magnesium, so I'd pick up some cal/mag solution. Remember, when growing soil less there are no nutrients in the medium so you have to supply everything that the plant needs.

Here's a pH chart that shows you at what pH the different nutrients are available to the plant. Remember, follow the hydro guidelines for soil less growing.

Muddy. Can't get the nutes I was planning to use for another week (A.N. IGUANA JUICE). I can get G.H. products locally. But thats about it. Was thinking I should get some and change to A.N. products after that. Will have to order cal/mag solution on line from the big city.

I would at least pick up something for veg locally and get them feed as soon as possible. You won't need the bloom nutes for another 2 weeks yet so plenty of time to order those. GH are good. I'm currently using their Biothrive line.

will pick up some food a.s.a.p. since thier due for a feeding anyway.
Cheers.

Update Red/White dwarf grow day 35

WHITE DWARF DAY 35.jpgWHITE DWARF DAY 35-1.jpgRED DWARF DAY 35.jpgROOM DAY 35-1.jpgRED DWARF DAY 35-1.jpg
All my plants eem to be growing like crazy. As in height. Or maybe I just don't know any better. I have two White Dwarfs that are about 7 inches tall (top left) and the rest of the grow is about 10 inches. Still have no signs of sex.
All the plants seem healthy and have nice colour. Just a little stretchy.
Me thinkem more light.

ANY SUGGESTIONS OR TIPS GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Cheers.
