2x QB 120 4pks with two 240w drivers $390
12x Bridgelux EB gen 3 4ft strips on a 480w driver $310
This is without accounting for heatsink, wires, wagos, junction, power cable, and hardware. The bridgelux is the cheapest but making the frame will cost enough to put it on par with the first two options as heatsinking will improve performance.
Bridgelux is close imo with the Elites in spectrum and efficiency.
The QB Elites are a great option that can be ran from 72w with simple series wiring and expanded upon. It's going to be more efficient than many of the cheap Chinese manufacturers, has a lens cover, heatsinking, and easy assembly.
@Mañ'O'Green in the middle of the frame later or get LED UV from Horticulture Lighting Group. I think the Elites are the best balance between performance/quality.
I do suggest renting a PAR meter if you can before your finalize your build so you can get optimal spread over a 4x4 area. The light is going to produce so heat as well so being able to exchange air routinely is important.
Rent the newest Apogee MQ-510 Par meter specially designed to measure the blue light emited from LEDs. Rental price starts at $15 and shipped directly to your door. Don't settle for cheap inaccurate equipment anymore. Find out exactly what par your coral needs.
