Rainbow sherbet

This will be for Barney’s farm “rainbow sherbet”.

Looks like they are medium feeders, moderate difficulty. I WILL NOT be adding rabbit poop to this grow, it makes EC total guess work. Id rather just run base nutrients in COCO.

I will be using MY grow style this time. It worked fantastically last time. I wish I had the old log, it was under mephisto transisto. The goal of the grow style is to maximize primary/secondary growth for large colas and thus minimize wasted plant matter/ fixed carbon.

Will keep to autopot recommendations for feed schedule. I will likely push the lighting to maximize canopy penetration. If you don’t remember, I have a foliar spray that reduces stress from photosynthesis which seems to allow more light without extra significant stress. Im aware this is different than mainstream, just watch. If it fails you can rub it in my face. Please do lol. It’s a combination of different substances that provide alternative pathways to remove waste/stress products of photosynthesis. Perhaps I’ll grab a few studies for anybody who is interested.

Advanced Nutrients. Sticking with base nutes primarily because why the piss do I want extra NPK with b52, etc? Stupid. Just pH big bud/b52 with more buffer tech, wtf do I want more NPK lol. Starting to dislike AN strictly for that reason and the organics that funk up the autopots. Nobody wants 10 gallons of nutrients spilled on the floor. And WTF DOES CAL MAG HAVE SO MUCH NITROGEN lol. Goodness. Come one AN you guys have some really cool products that could be altered and improved significantly.

All hail: King Fucktard.

Roll out the red carpet because here I am, ready to fuck up my next grow. To start, I transplanted the seedling way too deep. So I had to remove 2 inches of coco so it could break the surface. Fucktard.

Photo 2 and 3 are the fuck up. And for some reason the root of the other plant decided to grow upwards out of the dirt, so there’s that. I buried it but fuck lol that’s the main tap root.

It’s not really that big of a deal. And it probably won’t affect anything moving forward. it’s just a stupid brainless mistake to transplant too deep.

I know many of you will disagree with this, but here it is for the log. I said that I was going to push the lighting. They’re only getting about 18 DLI.

I ordered a new humidifier, fan, and controller, but for the time being, I have to keep these domes over them to keep the humidity up.

Be careful here. This is a dangerous setup. For the seedling, I dont care if you burn the house down.

 you’re referring to the fact that the lights are sitting in the dirt? You pointed that out last time so I put spacers on them to keep the lights up out of the dirt

Are there holes in the dome? At least some way for fresh air to get in also extreme humidity can be bad.

Wasnt me last time but yes electricity and water.

There isn’t… but I can put some on. The humidifier is supposed to be here Tuesday.

Couple small holes will help for sure.

Yessir will do

I know it looks like the lights are in the coco, but they’re not. One of them is, but it doesn’t have a cord on that side, and they all have spacers propping them up above the coco. It’s just one that touches, but there’s no cord on that side.

I can see that the humidity was a bit too high, even with the hole that I had. That’s OK though the humidity is at 90% VPD is .5, and I have them clamped down at .5 VP. They should transition just fine I think. One of them is a little bit soggy, but that’s OK.

I’m really excited about this grow. I’ve made lots of mistakes and learned lots of lessons and I think I can bring my lessons into this grow for a banger. My first grow got the volume of plant matter down well - partly by chance and partly because I researched thoroughly, and basically copied Auto Potamus and the like.

My second girl was fast Buds and I killed them because that grow method does not work with fast buds. It’s stunts them and kills them. For whatever reason, some of mephisto strains will gobble up high EC and just put out more plant matter. But its potency wasn’t super super impressive.

My third grow I got the potency down and quality of Bud down because I stopped listening to Auto Potamus and started feeding a more regular EC. This grow, I’m gonna take everything I’ve learned and apply it to this photo strain. I won’t have to do super high EC because I’m gonna have a longer veg time which will equate to better quality and bitter potency.

I make toy around with some chitosan/ SA during veg. Will see.

Change my mind, I just went ahead and ordered the air conditioner. I have an additional dehumidifier if I need to suck more moisture out of the air too. This should let me push the VPD back up in a small tent.

OK, the moisture in the grow room is just elevating and elevating. I desperately need to drop the VPD in the mature grow Tent so I brought the dehumidifier in there. This should bring the VPD to a more acceptable range for late flower… but it’s gonna come at the expense of temperature. It’s like 72 degrees @ .8 VPD or deal with 85° with acceptable VPD until the AC gets here Tuesday.

Domes typically come off once the first set of true leaves are fully expanded and the roots have reached the coco. At that point the humidity drops on its own and the VPD management gets easier without needing the dome. The AC arriving Tuesday should help stabilize things once it is in place.

Right I didn’t have a second humidifier because I planned poorly which is my fault. Personally, I would’ve never even put a dome on it. I would’ve just set the humidity at the right level right from the get go

Well, fuck. I was gone for a couple days and my dehumidifier wasn’t working so the fuckers were living in a cloud. My humidifier broke too, and it just stays on high at all times.

So that’s fucking awesome. They are not happy.

I’m noticing that I don’t feel a need to push these plants at all because I know that they can veg fo however long they need to. The girls are looking happier now their VPD was at .7 for the last few days and I just raise it again to 1.

So far, I’m letting the plants tell me how much light to give them and I decided to just totally remove the side lighting. This is just not a good way to do it.. there’s no way to dim them and they’re too intense in the positioning as bad. I did buy some heavy duty four footers that I can put on the side and all install those whenever they get here. Just to help shine some light on some dark areas.

The VPD has been locked at one for the last week or so. I increased the DLI to 25 yesterday. I believe we’re in week four. I’m still following the advanced nutrients recommendations for feed.

AND I’m a little bit fed up with the advanced nutrients line ups. I think what they should do is clean up their lineup. Remove all of the organics out of it. Put all of the organics into one product. I really really like their new overdrive product. I wish I had got that one instead, but I’ve already made the decision to switch to Athena.
