So I dropped three beans 3 days ago on Sunday 7/21/26, I put them in pre moistened Root Riot plugs in a humidity dome with Great White mycos/bennies, and was surprised with all three up and ready to go with tails coming out of the plugs this morning. They will be growing along with some mystery beans from Night Owl and Roc Bud Inc, Owl Pellets and Roc auto mix. They were planted in 1 gal fabric pots with COM Stonington blend with added perlite and a little happy frog with added perlite in the top third of the pot, in a SOG style setup. Light is a spider farmer 100w led. Sorry for the order of pics, came out all messed up
Girls are showing their lady parts! The Vanilla Re-Up is the middle row, top to bottom. I am going to defoliate now, there are a lot of branches down low not getting any light, so it’s time!
So the girls are doing great, they are a little light green as I’m still getting used to the small containers but I gave them a big dose of N along with my regular feed schedule.
The girls are getting chunky and frosty! I’m feeding them Mega Crop 1Part at about 75% now and these small containers are tricky but I think I got em figured out now. They are just about 3wks into flower, so considering how tightly everything is packed, I pulled them out for a quick Schwazze and lollipop! I’m really impressed with how uniform all three phenos are! They are the middle row top to bottom. The buds are already much more developed than the rest of the tent, so these are FAST! They are still a little light green, but I’m still learning these small containers. Theye been bouncing back and forth between dark and light green the whole grow lol. It’s a trip, because the containers are so small, the plants show really fast when they need something, but also correct themselves really fast! Kinda like hydro! So far I am very impressed with the genetics!!
I have a 3 pack of these and definitely paying attention to all the re up tests before I crack mine…I have high hopes for these and want the best for them…
The genetics are very promising! Lots of good stuff going on at Brother Mendel’s Selections!! As far as the Ice Cream Paint Job line, it and all it’s crosses are supposed to relatively easy to grow, and really fast to boot. The terps are supposed to be pretty insane as well! I’m excited for this one too! I’ll be looking for that Blueberry Limeade pheno!! Supposed to be awesome!
Finally dropped 3xVanilla Re-Up by Brother Mendel’s Selections today. I Dusted Root Riot plugs with a little Great White mycos and bennies, and I also used de-chlorinated and de-chloraminated, water with Bio AG Ful Power fulvics, ph’d to 6.0. I tear the plugs open down the side so I can check on progress. They are in a pre sprayed humidity dome and temps are around 75* f.
Running testers alongside mystery beans like the Owl Pellets and Roc auto mix is a smart way to get a feel for how the Vanilla Re-Up compares to familiar genetics right from the start. The 1gal SOG with Stonington blend should keep things moving fast, just watch the feed once they hit flower since smaller pots run out of steam quicker with a hot soil like that. Keen to see how those Ice Cream Paint Job crosses stack up against the Night Owl and Roc Bud stuff side by side.
Updated the main journal first post, plants a have revealed sex, they are ladies!!! They also got a haircut, they were getting branchy down low and I aint out here growing leaves lol! Get that light to bud site!
So I’ve been trying a new strategy, one is bottom feeding, the other is removing the new growth leaves as soon as they are big enough to cast anything in shadow. The lower branches are shooting up and on the Vanilla Re-Up they are just about caught up with the main! I’m also removing any other leaves that are casting any bud sites or new growth in shadow.
Hey bud just so you know, the Vanilla Re-Up is just about the easiest strain I ever grown, the way the buds are stacking I feel like it’s gonna be hell of a yielder for a super fast strain and super frosty too, my camera sux!. Bro Mendel says the Ice Cream Paint Job line is the fastest stuff in his catalog.
