The quality of these “Re Veg” buds does not very good at all in my opinion. And you’re saying that they are better than the original harvest?

I guess my ultimate question is what is the point in doing this rather than just starting new seeds?

unless you were super limited on seeds?

But at that point, why not just make some more?

I’ve always referred to it as a “staggered” harvest. I use it on plants with very short internodes to allow the lower and more central buds a chance at light and to mature. In more open plants, a side light will often accomplish the same goal; the inner buds get more light and finish at the same time as the main colas. My last “shrub” took 3 weeks to completely harvest, one layer at a time.

I understand staggered harvests, a true staggered harvest doesnt play with hormones and the first harvest is done when the top buds are fully mature. The bottom buds are just getting more time and light to mature.

This reflower doesnt work unless you harvest top buds early. Then the buds are hit with a flood of hormones forcing the plant into new growth. New growth from a dying plant without much left to give.

I get it and I see whats happening now, you are harvesting flowers in stages for multiple harvests. Basically a staggered harvest, but pushed to the extreme. Getting the plant to start new flowers over and over again. I’m starting to understand what you’re doing. And if that works for you Im stoked for you! I don’t have that kinda time, I like to grow lots of plants fast and use all that youthful vigor to my benefit. I’m not saying what you’re saying isn’t true, and I dont have to agree with everything you say. I like what you’re doing, and I love the commitment to an idea.i hope one day you perfect what you’re after. I’ll keep watching, but I’ll keep any opinions to myself and restrain from correcting anybody. You seem adamant you know what you’re talking about and I can respect that. Dont have to agree, but that’s what makes us human right? Keep it up bro, it’s good to have you here and I enjoy your thread. If you need anything don’t hesitate to reach out! Take care homie.

Im not here “attacking” you in any way. I dont think youre a dummy. I dont think youre wrong. My only thoughts are about the weed. Its amazing that you put this much time into your plants!

My only goal is to help growers produce good weed. And Im not here just for you, anyone that comes across this topic deserves to hear both sides.

What I think about the weed? You are wasting so much of your time and you are smoking a lower quality product because of this reflower. Those first harvest bud pics you posted arent what my finished buds look like.

Invest your time in training the plants to grow in a way that you dont have to worry about the lowers. Use the other growing methods out there to increase yields from the top half of the plant and you can sacrifice the lowers without it hurting. Just grow more plants to increase yield where you can throw away the lowers. Under canopy lighting. All of these are better options.

You said it took 8 weeks for the second harvest to finish. Thats damn near a whole other grow period. Instead of harvesting early let your plants finish which would be roughly 1-3 weeks longer from your current harvest point. This time will allow some of the lowers to mature to an acceptable level. Chop the whole plant and plant another seed.

Look I love to smoke weed. It has always been a dream to grow. I’d love to spare no expense and grow in those conditions inside. Realistically I grow so much outside that inside is a joke. I grow Autoflowers as a hobby and tool for my photos outside. So we will never have the same looking grow.

With that said. I didn’t do anything the plant didn’t intend. This is a stage of development. I do not harvest buds whose trichomes aren’t finished. My buds are developed. I’m sorry you don’t like the formation on the last plants neither did I. But a light went out and mutated flower and overall growth. Life goes on.

Only reason I go on is I know what I’ve done and what was beneficial to me. Time will show where im right and wrong at. But the buds get better always have. I smoke so that’s my reason. Even with shit formation the last selective and transition harvest. Went from unsmoked in first round junk. To finished buds small but dense that had a good high. While the selective finished with several ounces of better quality much denser and frostier. This is only better with better quality. Im not sure why you think it’s worse.

I get that for some it’s easier to stick with what they know. It’s my hobby so I don’t really care if it ever produces any weed. So I’ll play. It’s a part of the plant’s process. It sets in stages and is always present. Not in the maturity of buds but where on the plant it was grown. Bud development shows these stages but sets based on when it was grown Veg/flower. Veg never grows any buds.

What is your definition of “finished” trichomes? I’ve been reading this thread since you post it, based on the observations, there are some scientific/biological principles that are being misinterpreted here (in my humble opinion.) The plants are not “re-flowering,” its just continuing flowering growth from initial flowering. Re-flowering would imply it’s a second flower cycle, and it is clearly not.

What kind of yields are you pulling from these multiple harvest autos?

I believe @Drownomatic has had decent success with reflower after harvest. I can see it as a good way to test your bud and decide if you want to cross it with something without having to throw down another bean and hope it has the same qualities you liked about first plant.

This was on an autoseeds Zkittlez I believe.

I left every bit of larf, I pulled a bunch of leaves of course.

When the top buds looked done, I cut just them, and a couple weeks later almost everything else.

I had left the tiniest larf, which was still jus a spritz of white pistils.

I went back to veg nutes, 1/4 tsp of megacrop 1 part per gallon, and kelp/fulvic/humic

In about 2 weeks each of those shot up a stem, at least one of which side branched.

I had a similar late stretching couple of buds on my Gas Master Flex grow.

It was probably not as efficient use of electricity as growing a new on from scratch, but I didn’t keep enough records to do cost benefit analysis on it.

Any pictures/documentation?

I was taking pics on my outdoor autos. I decided to check the stumps of the mazar autos I chopped. One stump, which I had stripped all buds from, is forming new buds’

Okay, but isn’t that just continued flowering? To me, that’s the debate here.

Everyone is talking about “reflowering” like suddenly it’s this best kept secret that no one figured out in the past nearly 2+ decades of tens of thousands of people growing autoflowers.

Are there typical signs of revegetating? If not, how is the plant “reflowering” if the flowering cycle, which is really just the reproductive cycle, technically never stopped?

If I chop my plants 3 weeks early from when, clearly, they could take 3 weeks to finish, then leave the rest of the buds site to develop, are we calling this “reflowering” now? Is the new leaf grow true revegetation, when cannabis continues to grow new leaves even through flowering growth (albeit not at the same rate?)

Did you catch our discussion on defoliation when it comes to sources vs sinks in cannabis plant? If not, a source in a plant is any region of the plant that produces excess sugars, while a sink is any region that consumes or stores those sugars.

Removing mature flowers (especially the majority) removes a strong demand on reproductive sinks, vastly changing the source to sink relationship in the plant itself (massive reallocation of nutrient and mineral availability,) alters apical dominance and hormone distribution, and allows remaining meristems to receive more light and resources.

If living meristems remain, they may (and likely will, and likely should) continue producing a variable degree of flowering growth or occasionally generate more vegetative-looking growth on any existing growth left on the plant (which every single example both on here and anecdotal reference have confirmed.) Since cannabis flower clusters contain flowers and meristems at different developmental stages, it seems more plausible that selective harvesting can expose continued development that was already possible.

It seems to me this is almost like reverse lollipop to me which maybe im dumb but dont understand the point of taking underdeveloped colas off to beef up lowers.

Interesting I guess. Most of you just want to find wrongs or gotchas. None of you have explained why it goes through a whole new cycle. It’s not just swelling been there. I consider a new round new buds and vegetation. Growth is growth. The main thing you miss is the signal. I get you don’t believe but I’ve seen. It’s the only thing new. The rest has been seen but misunderstood or just wrong on why.

It’s a trait that keeps flowering as long as you harvest right. You can keep ignoring that it matters when you harvest. What would ever make you harvest underdeveloped buds.

Timing is everything in growing. Miss and that’s what you get fu&& up shit. Done right it gives what would never be accomplished without Reflower.

Thanks for the conversation and insight

There is nothing to explain. There isnt a new cycle. Its continued growth. You cut buds off and it grows more trying to reproduce and pass on its genes. It doesnt start a new cycle.

No one missed the “signal”’ its called senescennce. I said that already.

Youre going to need to do better than what you think and feel. You’ll need to provide some kind of scientific explanation of whats happening before anyone takes you serious. The fact that thousands of growers and potentially hundreds of research scientists havent discovered this makes your claim tough to believe.

BUT youve said yourself the plant dies. If it was a new cycle wouldnt the plant be healing itself, be rejuvenated, and stay alive? You showed us pics of your “first” harvest and the buds werent anything like developed buds Ive seen.

Something we agree on.
