Sorry to pick this apart. Theres levels to growing and I have no idea what level you are on. Best way for me to know is by seeing your grows. No disrespect in that either. Your version of healthy and my version of healthy might not be the same.
If I can find it I’ve got a picture of the first round buds. It’s not showing up when I go to add it. They are all Autoflowers I didn’t know what was coming or happening at this time.
We have only seen this one example from this one person. All I’m saying I think it warrants further investigation
I know brother. My opinion isnt the final word. Im just pointing out some things that should be investigated. You would think with all the autoflower work being done in the last 5-10 years that this has been found and ruled out. It would be main stream if it was solid.
Those outdoor girls are definitely looking healthy.
Yes and no, a lot of shit only gets looked at if it’s seen. I doesn’t take much to try it out, and who knows what it looks like other people’s hands. New discoveries are made everyday, about thing right under our noses. I just want to see more documentation, as much as possible, and also tried by other people and hear their results about what they think is happening, etc. sounds easy enough, after harvest leave whatever leaves remain along with the most immature buds containing all clear trichomes. Ami I correct in thinking this? And then start adding a bit of N back into the feeding. If it could be done and everything stays healthy and good would you reconsider? I think a lot of people would. I’m just saying if the theory holds true, it could be a game changer. And just that warrants looking into it. I think that’s why forums like this exist, so knowledge can be shared, investigated, improved upon if necessary. Ideas gotta stay somewhere.
Thats how Im understanding it.
Absolutely. Maybe it comes off as me bashing on the idea but Im not. What I am doing is poking at it to see if its worth the time. Before your comment about saving a pheno, I sent nuggs a dm saying the exact same thing. Below is exactly what i said:
You could use it on a “keeper” auto and like you said make seeds. Or if there arent any negatives to the bud, it would almost be like keeping a mom with photos.
Absolutely Homie! Could be a game changer, if it can stay healthy and it doesn’t get too stressed during harvest and such.

I’m all for poking holes! It how you find the weak spots,!
Me too.. that’s why I have a kid ![]()
Got two lol
Okay. I have a better understanding of whats being done here. When @Marshalling says “When autos compete trichomes production a signal is sent through the plant. This signal ends Reflower before it begins.” what he is referring to is senescence.
He is harvesting the top colas right before senescence which stops the dump of ethylene. The ethylene dump is the signal. Now that the top has been harvested the apical dom is broken, the lowers get access to light, roots are more efficient, and the plant is overall in survival mode doing everything it can to reproduce before death. Its why the new buds have trichs, they need to catch pollen asap. All of this is why he says the buds get bigger and the new buds manage to finish with the other buds.
The biggest problem here is that you have to harvest the best buds on the plant before they are ready. Just to get more B grade buds or worse just more larf.
The selfing and making seeds wouldnt work either. I dont know enough about it so I had to look into it. First the plants sex is already locked in at that point making it extremely unlikely for a reversal to work. Next is the time frame needed for the seeds to develop and mature. Third is what I was concerned about which is the plants health. Even tho its been delayed, that plant is still dying. All of its systems are exhausted and at their end. Roots cant pump, tissue is all woody, etc.
Thks for explaining that in clearer terms. I get it, and a lot of that makes perfect sense! It’s getting harder to see the benefits. Still interesting but I couldn’t see a reversal happening, or any breeding benefits.
Peaked my interest. I hadnt heard about it but google said its been documented before and that commercial grows dont use it because its so inefficient.
I did find some work on tissue culture for autoflowers but still no good way to save our keepers.
So im going to start by saying didn’t mean to leave conversation. Got to maximum allowed post for new people.
Next and im going to try and be nice. Please don’t try and belittle me. I don’t have a degree. I don’t have the most money. Im a schizophrenic who is med resistant.
Nothing about that changes the fact that I have googled this s@@@ for more hours than I can count. First can’t be done. Next is it can be done. Only not consistent or only the little stuff at the bottom. For the last two years I haven’t searched for anything on the subject.
None of that changes what im talking about. I make it sound easy and try explaining simple. The reality is that trichomes finish in hours. So it’s extremely easy to miss the whole field. The next fact is others have finally figured red to white pistols development. This is the visible setup that holds Reflower. This change happens in minutes as the hormone from the signal takes effect. Becomes visible to track with the naked eye. As white pistols change red in seconds.
There’s more than one way to Reflower. Each gives it’s own unique transformation. The simplest and easiest to explain is what I call a transitional harvest. This is red to white development and is only a handful of buds. This gives two distinct rounds of flower. With most plants this is small cause it’s veg growth time is short. Most of the plants life was spent in flower.
The second and one I recommended is a selective type of harvest. This sounds the simplest but is far from it. All buds in this type of harvest will be a finished product. My cut line for sativa is any bud present with amber at time of first bud to reach 30%. This window is hours long. Now the fun really begins cause you have to track all buds trichomes development without knowing which will be next. Once you find you repeat the process over again. This goes on repeating for multiple harvests. Reflowering or new bud growth comes naturally with no stress. This allows B buds to become A buds. This also gives new buds.
Both have been called Marshaling. For people like you who continue to tell me what can be done. Or worse which is what I feel you would like to say and that’s im a dummy your the expert and I am crazy.
So I hope you follow me and see Marshalling at its finest. Cause it will be a fun ride with new not yet seen or seen like it should be footage And remember no google search will tell you any of this. It’s all me.
If your wondering next round is afoot. It’s not my usual run i let time take effect :). No stretching leads to a much quicker flower. Way faster than usual. So won’t be as good a return but will show what I want. Next round will start soon i just got to use my grow area. Once im done drying outside harvest I’ll begin.
Photos are a few days old they have since been moved outside. Update will come at some point.
I hope it didn’t come off as disrespectful, we try to poke holes in theories and you are definitely onto something, I thought it could possibly be used for breeding, but that doesn’t seem realistic, to me. Doesn’t mean there aren’t other benefits, and yes I will absolutely be following you and your journey. Take care friend
Then why isn’t this true in photoperiods? I reveg one plant 4 times, with just about equal harvests every time. And each time, the amount left on the stump was minimal. Consider this was a plant that revegged and completed flower four times.
