Flowering help.

Hello all. First time grower here and just done a few noob things resulting in me not being 100% sure of the flower week I am in.

Growing autoflowers in coco.

Is it possible for someone to estimate how long left I have so I can try time the flush 2 weeks before. I think I timed the time of flower wrong but anyway. A rough week would be awesome from one of you long time growers.

Autos we don't count from beginning of flower... photos you count from the day you flip the lights... since we don't do that, we count from the beginning. I think most of us count from first true leaves.

She looks pretty close to being ready, I suggest you poke around here and find the thread on flushing being a myth, your only hurting your overall weight.

We don't flush grapes, or oranges... or even tobacco, we've flushed weed because its something we were "told" a long time ago.

Haven't flushed now in several years. If you think about it, unless the medium is oversaturated with food, your removing the nutrition just when she really needs it trying to finish.

Flushing, I believe became a thing when we moved growing indoors in the 80s. Trying to get the plants to look like their outdoor counterparts when fall comes.

I've never really thought about it and compared to other fruits etc but it does make sense. Im not gonna flush now regardless. Too many people have told me not to.

But as we are on bro science topic lol. What about the dark period. I heard that its a good idea to leave them in total darkness for the final 2 days before harvest or. Is this another one of them like flushing is

Noob here myself, but that’s what I’ve done with all of my grows. I put ice around the stem to simulate a frost and put them in the dark for 48 hours. Whether it does anything, I have no idea. :shrug:

Yeah, another myth. I've chopped before lights on, after not watering for several days, flushed... etc.
Have never noticed anything that would have me do it twice.

I feed up till chop, hang dry complete plant then cured in glass. I can tell a difference from weed done the way we always have, and a faster dry and then an attempted cure it in Tupperware or storage bins. But that I feel is due to plastics off gassing, even minutely.

You'll notice much more of a difference in a proper dry and cure than anything else, you can make or break a grow in those last few weeks before the jars are sealed.

Awesome. Ywah I've read up a lot about drying and curing so hopefully that will.be enough for me to get a decent end result after cure. Thanks all for the help

Another thing...

If I cannot tell if my trichomes are clear or cloudy then I hear I should just assume they are clear?

I've asked this before and had that answer a couple of times. Just wasn't sure if there was a clear difference between clear and cloudy. My eyes cannot process it lol
