Lighting advice on LED.

Removing my link is only a pitty for people searching for LED info but anyway.

Plagron Lightmix you use as I had just read?

I have bought the same last week, germinated seeds, put them in this mix (RQS Royal Critical and my famous Northern Lights RQS) exactly 7 days ago and I am very disappointed with the size of leaves and overall growth. I use 18l pots and wattered only once with 1-1,5 l water with Hesi Root Complex and Powerzyne both half of recommended amount.

T: 22,6 C, RH : 64%, I run 350 w LED on 70% power so that it takes app.120W. The distance is 80cm.

last two or three days I have started to be concerned a little bit. All 3 NL alos had long issues with removing shells while RC was more succesfull.

I learnt a while ago after having the same problem with shells if you plant it a little deeper say 3cm they have enough time to release the casing before sprouting.
We have a section dedicated to LED growers https://www.autoflower.org/f138/ would be cool if you could start a diary that way we can help if you have any problems and also get to see your new lights in action oh and we won't have to hijack ermlights thread anymore too lol. Don't take having you link taken down personally it's the same rules for everyone and we are just trying to keep SPAM in check.

Yes, I will start a diary and take some photos first. I hope we have not been hijacking ermlights thread since he should have got valuable information.

So we leave this thread but I want to finish with some conclusions abot LED vs HID.

At least me and Dutch Passion, famous seed experts have come to very similar results (with photo plants, not AF):

Good LED light is exactly 100% more effective than a new HID. But that does not mean 300 W LED light will work as well as 600 W HID. Far from that.

Since 300W LED light consumes approximately 170W (energy for fans included) it is comparable with 340W HID. That means it overpowers 250W bulb but not 400 W.

Many growers who had switched from HID to LED had expected too much from their new LEDs and had installed too little capacities. 600W HID should be replaced with 1200W LED capacities consuming 600W which will last almost forever while HID bulbs should be replaced frequently.

My neighbour can tell you much about HID effectivness. 4 x AF - 2,5 months 288 g, next grow with the same bulb but more experience 240 g, 2,5 months again. Third growth under same light, 4 x AF, more experience and two months have passed he expects 100-150 g, despite last 14 days he has been using additional 165WLED from my collection which added 30g to the result.

I am quite positive that HID works well only first 3 months. And I am quite positive that LED will perform almost as good as the first day after 5 years of continuos use.

Thanks for the info. I should be going today to pick up one of the lights. A guy was in there bought two of the big boys. He says they are top notch leds. I talked to thhe owner if I remember right he makes them himself. I'm shooting for low heat. But the watt and prices are a toss up. My buddy knows the guy real well and the guy said he would hook me up. So we will see I got a durrty dragon about to pop soil. I thought I would use some cfls too. Then I was looking onhtg and I like there led tent so I'm not sure yet.

new led

I went and bought it to try it out.:stylez rasta smoke:

Should I use the growth and bloom at same time? Or growth at first then both?

Grow for veg bloom for bloom

Specific ratios of nutrients which are important for optimal growth periods

Ok cause the guy told me. To just go ahead run both from the start

If your getting advice from someone who has experience with one then go with that bro,If I was in your position I would try the first grow as your friend says using the full spectrum then the next grows experiment with them.

Seedlings do not need abundance of red light. That is why you have two switches. As you can see, your light has some red diods on also in growth mode and when you press bloom it just adds new red light what is suitable for flowering stages.

In case you start seedlings with your light in growth mode with bloom off you will be able to put the light closer to plants than if on full power. And give them suitable wavenlengths of light instead of too much burning red.

Seems that what fat buds like is not the same as little babies. That is why CFL is good for first 14 days and then starts to lose the battle with LED and HID.
