My rule for defoliation, is when you think you've stripped enough off, strip some more

Like anything with 5 or more leaflets? Curious how you do. I usually go for anything with a stem and anything facing inwards or covering any budsites working from the bottom up as best i can when the nets in place. Then from the top i work down again taking anything that could cover anythiing soon and that i missed the first time. Id take about the same as Dabs for a regular defol, but would hit a couple times thru flower alot more to open it up amd keep air moving

Mine totally got away from me. I think my only prayer moving forward is an open structured plant that doesn't have many leaves to begin with. I/S 20/80 or similar.
Looks like hilux finished pretty strong

Its alot of work to keep that scrog circulating air.

I have rules lol! Man do i have rules! Branches in the center of the plant have all shade leaves except the very top growth removed. The surrounding branches have all leaves facing inward removed. Any top or satellite bud blocked by a leaf, gets that leaf removed. I will be more careful on plants that dont have alot of leaves. But i am pretty ruthless. I try to not remove more than 25%-35% of foliage per plant as pushing it will result in more down time and i only go extreme like that a couple times, maybe 3 for photos, at the beginning of flower(a couple days before flip for photos and about a week after autos show sex)and about 3-5wks into flower, genetics depending. Photos will usually get a full strip(lollipop and defol) when i drop the scrog net towards the end of veg as well. I used to be really cautious but have learned what i can take without slowing them down and really improving my harvests substantially! No more larf!

Edit: i grow pretty crowded because i have such small tents 2x2x4, if i don’t wasn’t vigilant with defoliation i would run into alot of problems, mold being the main!

Yeah she did thank you and yes possibly but I also think it’s just the product of the method. Everything we’re doing to make more bud sites also creates more leaves

Thanks.I got a hbss and hubahaze on deck.Hubahaze is supposed to make a nice scrog plant.420 grew a killer hbss a while back.Both are supposed to press well which is also a bonus.

That aint a failed attempt at all! Thats a damn good first attempt! Any reason its not in the net anymore? If your yield is bigger than what you normally get i would call it a success! Shoot if you get to the end with no major problems like mold or bugs or a horrible lockout id call it a success.

It's a decent plant but scrog was my goal.Got over whelmed with the defol.After the supercrop I couldn't keep up. Sorry 420 for hijacking your thread.
