14 day old Dark Devil seedling continues to grow mutated. All other plants in same soil doing fine. Just starting DG nutes at 1/4 strength yesterday with RO corrected to 6.5 Debating a cull if this is a genetic mutation.

Temps 24-18 c
Humidity 55-60%
240w QB at 50% & 30”

She a goofy looking one eh? I've seen it before, it may grow out of it or it may not, but it will still yield some nice nugs.
:vibe:
Thanks for the reply. Yes, she’s a unique one for sure. Maybe I’ve just been lucky and never had one do this in 10 years. New strain I’ve not grown before so maybe it’s just unstable. I’ll keep her going for now, but she may get relegated to the shadows if I don’t see improvement

Very common issue with hybrids. It is genetic but nothing to worry about. The breeder has to do more work in stabilising its phenotypes to be pleasant to the eye. Other than that this stress symptom in certain other strains might be an alarm for hermies, but my experience tells me that it is a good sign for extra potency in thc for most strains.

To further comment on this, later on during growing you might notice symptoms similar to nutrient deficiencies or overfeeding, but keep a steady light feeding schedule and ignore them. Provide the required nutrients not to starve it and enjoy the final crop. It happens to many of my own crosses between strains even up to generation 12. Later it fades completely.

I decided to let this hot mess grow out for the love of things that are, “off” You nailed it on the “similar to nutrient deficiency”. She’s fading where it shouldn’t be, and showing things I know just aren’t there. I’ve just been keeping on doing what I think is best, and she just keeps going. Will be a low yield for sure, but hoping for that extra bunch you speak of. At least she’s starting to turn her genetic purple

I sincerely hope so. How are the crystals and resin going? Have you checked on them?

Seems on point with trich development. In fact, there’s trichs almost all the way to the tips of the leaves (the fans). Sticky and smells amazing

I am growing this same strain, with the same issues of mutations. How did you're final yield come out. And did you get the seeds from Papa G?
