Hey guys. Got a week old seedling doing pretty perfectly in a solo cup, but she's got a few mites and they're beginning to build a tiny web.

I have horticultural bug spray arriving today in the mail, what route should I take? Drench just the soil? (I see no bugs on the seedlings at all)
LIGHTLY spray the soil? Spray it several times a day lightly?

When should I transplant? I have 5gallon smart pots ready and waiting for these girls, but clearly I shouldnt transplant until the bug issue is taken care of. No?

Ya could drench the soil, and I’d even spray the seedlings down a few times as well.
I think you’ve got pribs 2-3 weeks before you’d have to transplant the seedlings into their final home so plenty of time to do some spraying/drenching

I reserve the right to be monumentally wrong!
Don’t forget as well another useful tool in this kinda pest prevention is hydrogen peroxide.
mix up some of that, 1 part hd to 4 parts water and water the seedlings with that for a few days.
that can help fry any eggs under the soil and really help break the pest cycle while also giving your roots a bit of a boost

I'd spray everything that U can when you can and keep spraying you can even take your fingers and just like lately rub over those leaves to help get rid of that webbing and kill off and Crush those spider mites down

But I would drench the soil a little bit to it should be easier to manage since the plants small you said it was a Seedling but if it's been in your tent you'll have to treat your whole tent

Hello!

Is this the only plant you have growing? Are you growing in a tent? Do the leaves have damage or discoloration? Pics would be great! What type of "bug spray" did you order? Is it specifically for mites?

Spider mites can be a doozy. They are microscopic, and can travel/migrate with a simple gust of wind. That means they can get on your clothes and be spread even further.. If you are seeing webs, then you have more spider mites than you may think. They live on the under side of the leaves. A magnifying glass or loupe will help you see them. If you have more than one plant, they probably all have mites somewhere. If you are in a tent, you need to disinfect it from top to bottom. Fans, lights, everything. If it's an open room, then some major cleaning needs to be done in the room as well.. Spider mites can hang out pretty much anywhere.. You won't have a spider mite issue resolved in a week or two.. It's a process.. I would normally say don't transplant until the bug issue is resolved.. But since this is an auto, 3 weeks in a solo cup will stunt it. Even 10-14 days in a solo cup could slow it up. I guess it just depends on how bad the spider mite situation is. Again, pics will definitely help!

Ps.. Spider mites don't really thrive/live/feed in the soil.. If they are on the soil, it's the top inch or so, but you'd need a magnifying glass to see them. They feed/live on the leaves.. A soil drench of insecticide wouldn't do much for spider mites.

Also the webbing they make helps to protect them and their eggs and get around that's why it's a good idea to rub the leaves so you can kind of get that stuff off

Well hey! Thanks for showing up guys. Baked and Stevie just pm'd me and addressed my woes, so I will just briefly respond to Proph since he was so glorious to assist me.

I am growing just 3 this time, and do have a pic, but it is PROBABLY of absolutely no use to you. As I said, I caught these jerks real real early, I have seen 1 or 2 with my naked eye (and yes I know they are microscopic and theres likely some that my naked eye missed) but it is only day 6 to be fair, and there is just the very very very very first signs of mites. I have still yet to find one on my seedling itself, and I check rather diligently. That being said...there is absolutely no damage to my seedlings at all.

I ordered the very first horticultural insecticide that popped up on Amazon called "Safer's" after I searched for Neem Oil....only to find out after ordering that Neem oil is not even on it's list of ingredients. Hopefully I'll be just fine, it is organic, and listed as a miticide. It didn't come in as quickly as I'd like, so I ran out to the garden shop and grabbed the identical bottle, as the lady in the garden shop suggested.

That last paragraph of yours was basically my main worry....how long do I have to deal with this issue, before I rush into transplanting. I am probably in a bit of a rush to transplant, so I'm leaning towards - Hurry up and deal with the pretty minute mite issue, before it becomes more than minute.

Here's the picture just for fun, but I'm sure you'll see nothing of interest.
