Lighting 3x3 set up. Overkill?

Hey yall just trying to figure out if it's worth adding an extra 1000w led to my set up. I'm completely new to this so I'm unsure If this is overkill or not.

***3x3x6 tent. (4) 5-gallon pots***

So I currently have a philzon cree cob series 1000w and I'm curious to see if adding another 1000w (sunraise led) would be overkill? Would it be okay to run these two lights together? Am I over thinking this all?

If you can dim them, should be doable especially if you plan to upgrade in the future. Most LEDs run more efficient when run soft. Meaning you get more lumens per watt at lower wattages. Less heat too but would lose intensity and some say penetration. Not to mention you will need much much more diodes to make up the wattages.

If the above confuses you, then a simple answer is Yes if not dimmable and No if dimmable. Hope this helps.

@DarkStarMagnolia is this dejavu or did we talk a bit about this? The short answer is no it is not overkill. The science behind my answer is based on DLI (day light integral). This is the amount of light (PAR) a plant needs for optimal growth over time (a day). Look it up. There are calculators to plug your light PPFD in U-mols/m²-s . It is often difficult to get the true PPFD of a light but you can extrapolate the information from the PPF foot print. Get an average of the area by adding up all of the points and divide by how many you use.

Then plug that into one of the online DLI Calculators with the time you will run your lights and you will get the DLI that light provides to the plant. The target for cannabis is 20 to 50. Under 20 and the plant will not grow to its potential. Over 50 is wasting energy. I added accros the middle and got 425 avg. Plugged in 18 hour day and got this: Which will grow a plant! but more is better.

How many plants are you planning to grow bro? I'm using a 3 x 3 tent and started off with 4 plants in 4 gallon pots - 4 became 3 became 2 then 1 due to size.
