OK, so I done my live intro and was greeted by some of you (will link to intro) and made to feel welcome in the AFN Community.
So yeah first ever cannabis grow, I have grown many types of veg and herb and flower in my back garden but never cannabis.
So for my first grow I've stuck 2 Polar Expresses in 15L buckets with John Innes seed sowing compost. The reason I've done this is because I killed 3 PE seeds trying to germinate them in Composted Manure mixed with veggie compost and grosure compost with chicken manure and egg shells...I think the very rich mix might have killed them? The seeds "Popped" and had varying lengths of lil taproot across all 5 but the 2 I have going ATM are the only ones alive and all I can think of is the seedling soil is the difference?
I am going to start another 5 PE's when I come back from Rome
however I'll focus on these 2 for now.
So JInnes Seedling soil and loads of perlite is my medium... Plants growing averagely I feel, healthy green no defects so far. Fan blowing lightly on them 24/7 as we are getting a heatwave in Scotland that's stretching weeks with temps as high as 30! Celsius.
So I have a few questions.
Is John Innes seedling soil ok if I start feeding in a couple weeks? Any better soils I can germinate straight into?
If rich soil is too strong and burns seedlings, yet I shouldn't transplant due to stunting and autos hating it... What option do I have other than seedling soil the whole grow feeding say biobizz grow n bloom WK 3 on?
These really are a low smell strain right?
I sure hope so.
Auto's and PE in particular are very sensitive to nutes from what I've read, can someone elaborate on a good feeding schedule or cycle that won't burn it?
Should I spray the leaves with some organic pesticide/fungicide as preventative measure or simply act if there IS a problem?
Thanks in advance, the pics are around week 1
