I teach bio-chemical analysis to 2nd yr undergraduates :coffe: and plant-tissue analysis is only the tip of the ice burg, but is considered an area in it's own right these days.. To answer your question, there are numerous novel extraction methodologies for tissue analysis -SCFE (super-critical fluid extraction coupled HPLC, Laser assisted micro-dissection ect..) but modern TS adapted, solid-phase micro-extraction (SPME) and stir-bar sorptive extraction (SBSE) coupled with GC mounted mass spectroscopy, are perhaps the more advanced techniques available.

Most tissue samples are homogenized before they are inserted into the SPME matrix, although head-space sampling can be used for volatile analytes. With SBSE, because the coated stir bar has a greater mass of stationary phase compared to the SPME fibre, the SBSE provides a higher sample capacity with reduced noise and can achieve a greater resolution of trace substances.

Here's some pictures of my laboratory and some of the instruments i have at my disposal.. https://www.autoflower.org/members/trifid/albums/slowly-downward/54567-ltm2/

wow! Well, you're certainly a huge help and a wealth of knowledge, that's for darn sure :)
Thanks!

Thanks MedicineMan :D I did some reading of your cannabinoid profiling a while ago, i'm no breeder but it makes a lot of sense for selection. The community here is impressive, people working together, supporting each other with their projects with good feelings and i'm glad i could contribute to that. You guys are some of the most generous I've met in this field. Valuable contribution requires a commitment to sustain friendships and treat each other with respect. With such great work, honesty and sincerity the AFN stands out from many of the growing forums out there and is quickly becoming a wealthy educational and social resource.

Seymour -I love your thread  I am learning a great deal from the discussion here. Some fine genetics you're working with.. I am well and truly sold on the DWC x LED setup and I am excited about making the switch. What's your take on the DWC vs Aeroflo under LED? Again thanks for sharing your experience with us.

wow! Trifid and Seymour buds!!!! on the discussion of nutes and light!!!!!

loving it guys... great hash-out of facts!!!!

:dance2:  :jump: :smokebuds: :buds:

Seymour your plant looks amazing as always. Quick question bro. On DP site they have the Auto Mazar record around 200 grams. Your Mazar was over 300 wasn't it? Do you now hold the Auto Mazar record or am I mistaken. Anywho time to set an early record for the Think Different. I have a feeling no one will touch it for awhile.

Hey captain, the 205g Is for outdoor yield and seymours was 350g for indoors mate..you see the Dutch passion logo at the top of this page,it flicks through a cycle and it says it there mate :toke:

Sweet. Yea I checked it out I must have missed seymours. Great job Seymour. Set another

I can't link my publications without "outing" myself. You can do a general Google search on photoinhibition. There have been lots of studies on red light and UV and how it affects plant growth. It gives me reason to believe that 24hr light is not good for the autos. I will see if there are some other similar articles out there on the matter that I can post in the forums.

I really have to thank the founders again for putting this site together. We have hundreds of years of combined experience and this is the perfect format to share the knowlege. I have made some friends on the site and estimate that we have over 175 publications in scientific journals. I don't think you could get a better group of people working towards the common goal of understanding our favorite plant. Hats off to Trifid. I have seen Trif's list of publications (over 150) and we are blessed with that body of knowlege here in this forum.

Seymour mate, i noticed you switched to flower nutes around day 29,but you also say DP autos show sex and carry on vegging.maybe running veg nutes a little longer will stop the leaves yellowing, other members have discussed this and some are running veg nutes longer as they have found some strains requiring N in flowering..or maybe it's just natural for the plant to do this, she sure looks like she's loving everything your doing mate.

i'm in soil under hps and i use veg nutes all the way up to week 8.start mixing veg and bloom as soon as they start to flower good.usally around week 5 or 6.
