OK guys - Just to keep my thread alive, here are some minor updates. Changed out the bucket reservoirs today.
The
Critical Jack is on day 14. She looks OK to me, but definitely seems to be behind schedule. Just 2 sets of leaves, and the 2nd set are just 1 finger leaves. This is the longest I've kept something alive, so I'm happy about that.
The leaf tips are yellow and have been for over a week. And she started curling downwards recently. Hope its OK. I covered those topics in these threads:

Today I gave her a 1/2 strength feeding using the general hydroponics chart. It included FloraDuo A + B + CaliMagic + Diamond Nectar + RapidStart. The ppm was just shy of 500 for this week. That's up from 350 last week.
Trans Siberian - Its day 2 for the Trans Siberian. This is my 3rd (!!!) bean. The first one died on me, because I made a bunch of mistakes. The 2nd one didn't germ after 5 days, so i gave up on it. Now the third bean poked her head up just yesterday.
The good news is that along with the plant sprouting, there was a small little root poking out of the bottom of the rockwool. The bad news is that the sprout came up kind of sideways. Its like one of the cotyledons didn't really detach from the new leaves. See pics below:
Water is a ph 5.7 in the res and I added a little bit of Rapid Start to get the PPM up around 140.
I'm just going to leave it be for a few days and keep my fingers crossed.
I'm also hand watering both plants right now. This is something I read about for DWC systems. Basically I'm taking a 2 cup measuring cup and filling it with water from the bucket the plant is sitting in and slowly pouring it over the hydroton around the rockwool. I try not to soak the rockwool directly, but inevitably it gets a little wet.
I do a hand watering daily.
