haha good answers bro! sorry i didnt reply straight away didnt want to waft on your thread.

Waft away!
:pighug:

Sounds alot like what a caterpillar does as it enters its chrysalis right?
Hmmm - it doesn't strike me as a chrysalis structure - and haven't seen any caterpillars ... Yet.
BUT - your comment has ensured DEFCON 1 continues!

COMMENTS:

It's a battle in the garden at the moment.
The toxicity problem in areas of the garden is documented in the Infirmary, so I don't need to go into detail here, but the insects are also making their presence known more, every day.

As previously mentioned, NEEM has done nothing to stem their appetite.
I can feel them laughing at me - mocking me.

The weather has changed - the humidity risen, and the threat of mold has increased, as has the conditions for caterpillars to unload their larvae.

Rain is also forecast, along with cooler temps, later this week.
This will be the first real rain we've had in about 2 or 3 months.
BUT - it's forecast with summer thunderstorms which worries me, because they can be torrential and hail laden.
The girls are exposed.

Bringing these girls home over the finish line is going to be stressful.

UPDATE: Day 47 ... (for some, but not all)

It doesn't matter how many times I had mentioned it in this thread, and regardless of how much I knew it was a very real clear and present danger, nothing ... N-O-T-H-I-N-G can prepare you for that gut wrenching reality of discovering the first proof of stem boring caterpillars and the resultant bud rot.

For some who have been reading this journal, but have never experienced it, I want to provide a photographic journal of this specific issue, so you can see how utterly destructive it is, and how you need to be ever vigilant to have any chance to beat it.

Just to recap, the white moths are the culprit.
They lay their eggs on the plant, which then as larvae feed on the plant and BORE HOLES inward, into the stem.
This is why you can not detect them until its too late.
They are hidden from view and destroy the stem from the inside out.
It is their faecal matter that creates the visible bud rot, but the true damage is the bore holes which is how they get into the inner structure of the plant.

Here are the photos [hopefully] showing the specific issue they cause.

Oh FYI - this was a single bud discovered on the Blow Mind Auto No. 1.
There is no hesitation - you cut the bud off.
No ifs.
No buts.

You lose the battle to win the war.
As you can see, the rest of the bud looks perfectly healthy, and it would be easy to think it can be saved, given the relatively small area of 'disease'.

No.
There is no saving it.
Lose the whole bud, take it on the chin, move on.

Light rain here this morning, so I didn't feed.
Given the toxicity in the garden, any chance to let Mother Nature step in and handle the feeding schedule will be welcomed.

They didn't get a full watering, but to water them on top of drizzle seemed wasteful.

However, it also means last night's application of Snake Killer - in all probability - was rinsed away.
I will reapply this evening, just to be safe.

Aaaaaarrrgggghhhhhhhhhh - thunderstorms forecast this evening, circa. 21:00 - 21:30.
Pretty much the time I was planning to apply the Snake Killer, which if true, would also render THAT application null and void.

I swear this grow is going to do my head in.

Can't wait to get back inside my beautiful, stress free tent !!

Whatever the outcome of THIS grow, I'm going to do the same strains again, to see what they can achieve sans electrical fires, extreme heat triggered toxicity, leaf devouring grasshoppers, tail-wagging-branch-breaking dogs, and stem boring caterpillars!!
