Looks like you ended up with a nice plant there. I'm also growing Short Rider, 2 of them, so it's nice to see how your plant turned out and how long it took. Nice cola you have there. I'm excited to see how much you harvest from that.

So the bud you sampled was pretty good, but not worth it?

Well it gave me a nice body buzz, so the quality is good. When I say it isn't worth it, is because you don't get to really appreciate what you're smoking, it's just for the stone. Tastes like crap ahaha.. The quality of the dried and cured stash doesn't scare me, everyone talks good about short rider.. People say that, for the time u wait is the best you could get.

Thanks for the comments and for the new hints on drying and curing Rooler!

Slow2gro are you keeping a journal here at the forum?

I would flush now with plain water and air dry for 14 days in a dark place before curing

Hey agito!

By the time I wrote the last post I had already flushed. Harvest time is very soon. Why do u recommend to dry for 14 days? and by what method? paper box?

Thanks man!

Yeah 14 days seems long. I've read it was 1 day for every 10% RH you have in room, plus one more day. I think I read that here actually.
But honestly I have no idea.

hmmm, I think agito is suggesting a different method, am I right?

slow air drying bud (hanging on a wire in a dark area) for 12-14 days until the stem snaps allows the chemical process to continue to give you a smooth smoke even less than 7 days can result in a harsh smoke.

the the curing jars for your chosen time to continue the above process. if they went in jars wet they would mold

Just keep in mind that a lot of people in dry climates will have their bud turn to dust if they left it hanging for 14 days. Unless you're in a room where you have precise control over the humidity and airflow, environmental factors are a big consideration when drying.

Short Rider, Third flush, one week to harvest (?) (total 2 week flushing)

Hi people,

I've flushed for the third time in a week and so. How much longer should I keep doing it? I'm posting some photos detailing the buds for your appreciation. By Sunday it'll be 2 weeks since I started flushing, so I should be getting prepared for harvest.

I read that it's nice to give the plant a long dark cycle before cutting her. People say resin production increases during this period. Anyone have other useful tips for harvest?

As for drying, I can't dedicate an house division just for that purpose. I understand the smell can get very intense, so drying it in my bedroom (in a cardboard box) is out, right?
I'm affraid I wont be able to control environmental factors on any division of the house.
Leaving the same cardboard box in my balcony (those closed ones) wouldn't be a good idea also, at first I thought it would be good for air circulation, but the humidity is almost at its full potential. Anywhere near windows is off, isn't it?

Well, I'm open to any suggestions..
