hi all. new grower here. everything had been going fine with my auto mazar (now on week 4) but in the last few days i have noticed yellowing on the tips of new leaves which has now spread to some of the older leaves as well. Im not using any nutes and my soil is a mixture of store bought topsoil, compost and organic chicken manure pellets. at first i thought maybe heat damage (im using 600w hps) but then i realised that even lower branches that are well away from the light are getting this problem more or less to the same extent. could it be a defficiency of some kind? i dont wanna give them nutes as i know the chicken shit in the soil will have plenty of nitrogen already and most feeds have nitrogen in them. No, i dont have any way of checking ph but my water comes from a well in an area where many friends have grown with no problems using local well water.all the descriptions of various deficiencies seem to differ in some way from from whatever this is so heres a few pictures anyway. any oppinions would be fantastic. the last picture is its sister which is planted in the contents of a plagron light grow bag with no chicken manure or anything added which is showing similar symptoms

Chicken manure can have really high ammonia in it. It that is the case, you might continue to have a bit of burn on the leaf tips.

I agree with gtron. Depending on how you "prepared" the chicken manure there may be high ammonia levels along with high levels of uric acid. Avian manure is great provided it is properly aged and composted, otherwise it will burn the shit out of your plants. Trust me, I raise poultry (domestic/exotci), I know....

soil issues are probly the most annoying as ucant just uproot the plant and they can be dificult to treat/diagnose... like everyoen else said chicken fert. is like flirting with disaster if done properly it can b great but ess up a tinybit and it can turn to disaster.no nutes ay. have u checked the ph of your runn off and or soil? are you useing phd water?

the sister plant has no chicken manure or anything else in the bag, just plagron light mix, is this correct?? the two plants are showing the same problems, is this correct?? if both answers is yes it cant be the chicken manure, i use plagron light mix and know it is only lightly fertlized so after week three it runs out of food, so i dont think is a nutrients problem, maybe ph with water or soil, it has to be something that is the same in both plants, if both are affected

cheers for the replies. im starting to regret the chicken pellets, which i mixed in large enuff quantities with my soil prior to planting. but to answer ggsm555 yes the plant in the plagron mix has similar syptoms as you can see in the last pic. also my third mazar shown here in the new pic is also in the same chicken pellet/soil/compost mix as the first with the same amounts same watering schedule and has only the tiniest bit of yellowing, looks pretty happy and has been flowering for some time, so maybe it is something else? i have moved my light further away to about 30 inches from about 25, to see if this helps and have my fan on permanently instead of on a timer to cool em down abit. my well is in an area with a lot of iron in the water but it does go through a softener first. should i try using bottled mineral water that has been phd and see if this helps as i have no way of checking my ph at the moment? i will definetly get the gear to check ph as soon as i can anyway .thanks people View attachment 74705View attachment 74706 P1013455.jpgP1013456.jpg

but it does go through a softener first.

I am guessing that is your problem. The sodium in the softener. I would get some bottled water.

Or you could just use the water before it goes thru the softener and just adjust the ph down.

thanks agen. ive got the bottled water but is says ph 7.5 on the bottle so ive added a tiny bit less than 1/4 tbsp per gallon of lemon juice as everywhere says 7.5 is too high. anyway hopefully see some improvement. in the next few days. the problem dosnt seem to be getting worse very quickly anyway so whatever it is cant be too catastrophic i hope...
