Good Morning Gardeners!

Clone tent- Mites, man what a pain this is. I wish I knew where they came from. I have not had a pest problem in the 4.5 years of my garden room and in the last two grows I get fungus gnats and now spider mites. I have a suspicion, but since it's just s suspicion I'll keep it to myself I don't want to diss something in public only to be wrong. At any rate, I looked with naked eye and did not see any live ones. I plucked off some leaves here and there. Still no live ones but a fair amount of eggs. Those eggs almost look like a trichome. Hopefully the Azamax took care of them too. I will be watching!
The clones themselves look pretty good. The clone tent is also my place to test and get a handle on nutrients, lights, soils, etc. Being clones and photo period, not to mention mothers in another cab, they are pretty easy to deal with and not to heartbreaking to loose. Also teaching myself different techniques like sog and scrog, super cropping, etc. My last batch went great and I learned a lot. Good smoke and a learning opportunity! Cool!!
For this run I am using Tangilope. It has become everyone's favorite daytime, get stuff done buzz. I am also moving from my standard 3 gal felt pot and using 5 and 7 gal in this grow. When I was using the Rock line of nutes the 3 gal was perfect for my tents and the size I was growing. It seems with the NTFG having a bigger pot will make life a lot easier. I used to run the pot until dry and then water, as I now need to care for the soil and the plant I cannot allow them to dry out; it would kill the life in the soil, also the soil is a buffer. The 3 gal. made it too hard to deal with. The 5 or even the 7 gal should help a lot (I hope!). I am also recycling my soil for the first time. Not using salt based nutes and the ability to flush with the Herculean Harvest (liquid bone meal) to extract the excess salt and SFT 100 enzyme stuff for everything else I should be able to get a few uses out of a batch. At last that's my logic.
I am running the Nectar for the Gods line of nutrients. Instead of salts it is calcium based. I am using what they call the Roman Regimen which is their full line-up recipe.

Now that's a lot of stuff to mix!!

Thanks for reading, more to come.
Peace

Good Morning Gardeners!

Clone tent: I fed and watered last night. I am using the Mid Veg with the addition of 20 ml more of HH and 10 ml SLF-100, 0.6ml Mammoth P. I spent about 45 minutes looking for live mites, all I found was eggs. I'll keep looking. I was turned on to an new addition to the IPM arsenal, Trifecta a blend of essential oils that reportedly does it all! Well for pests anyways.

Future Tents: Built some 5 gal. pots last night. I made up four of them. I used NFTG [HASHTAG]#4[/HASHTAG] soil mixed 3:1 with Perlite, I leave a red cup sized hole in the center and fill with seedling mix, usually Light Warrior. This is where I drop my soaked bean. 100% on my last 10 germ/starts and hopefully this trend will continue.

Looking forward to the test gear arriving. A nice CMH and a surprize LED that we'll check out in a bit so stay tuned!!!

Good Morning Gardners!
Not much happening at the moment. Made up some pots. I am switching to 5 gal felt pots from 3 gal. The 3 is just too small it seems for using NTFG, the 5 should help. I think it needs more soil to act as a buffer and keeping the moisture level in range. We'll see. I am using NTFG [HASHTAG]#4[/HASHTAG] 3:1 with Perlite and as these will be seed started I have a red cup sized "core" in the center of seedling mix, Light Warrior in this case. Soaked them with water and will be adding some ACT tomorrow night. Hoping to drop some beans on Sunday!!
Speaking of beans I have chosen four Mephisto Illuminautos, Creme Bubbly, AVT Special pheno, NCH x Sour Hound, and Blue Toof. Oh boy this is getting exciting. I alway get a bit

Okay Dokay time to fiddle with my environmental controls. I am using a Samsung Smartthings home automation hub. I am using this in my home currently and it's a lot of fun and does some pretty cool stuff. If this work out I'll prolly get another hub just for garden control. With it I will be able to control anything that plugs in, lights, fans, AC, etc.. There are sensors for temp and humidity that I will be using and I am looking into light sensing also.
Today I will be pairing a wireless outlet and a temp/humidity sensor that is Zigbee I think. To tie this all together I will be using a smart app that runs on ST (SmartThings) called webCORE. webCore is an engine that you can write programmed action and response "apps". If the temperature is less than 70 turn on the heater outlet kind of thing. I've been in IT for almost 30 years and I still can't code to save myself, but lets see what I can do.
The challenge will be to do this for as little money as I can. So far I have found sensors for just shy of $10.00 and switches for around $5.00. Really pretty cheap if you know the pricing on this stuff.
I'll report back when I get somewhere!

Good Morning Gardeners!
Welcome to Chez' WWWillie'!
As I was saying VPD or Vapor Pressure Deficit is really where it's at for me. I think a huge piece of the puzzle has been put in place with this. The Pulse Nano is just phenomenal in this regard. It gives me a perfect picture of the two factors in VPD.
Here is my readout for the last week. Early in the week I was getting close by using a steam type humidifier. VPD is the green line. I will use this to guide me as I build out my environmental controls.

Here is a nice excerpt from a blog post on The Weedblog about VPD :pass:

I think this sums up my grow environment nicely. Dry in winter, humid in summer, etc. But it's the winter dry that was hurting me. I need to go look at the dates on the pictures that I have that exhibit the browning of the leaves. I was sure that all my stuff was in spec for light and feed and watering and I never did figure out why I suffered so. I bet the dates will coincide with low humidity times.

Very interesting , VPD is something I been reading a lot about , its very intresting :pass:, taking a seat I also love to try and get things made on the cheap  ille check your link out to see if it's as good as the one I have ,some make it sound like rocket science and some clear as mud

what happened lights off 17 jan ? lights off is middle of the day and the tent door was open or
:pighug:
Aha!
I checked my timeline and saw that I made a note. I removed the Pulse Nano from the tent due to spraying the living sh!te out of everything in an effort to rid myself of mites. This Pulse Nano rocks!

Morning Gardeners!
Wow is been awhile! Please pardon my absence. Life and all. Doesn’t help That I am a political junkie and we certainly live in interesting time to say the least. It’s like watching a car wreck, you just cannot stop watching it. Regardles of a persons political view, you cannot argue that.

The gardens are doing well. I am wicked excited. I will be using some of the best and recent lighting tech. I am testing Pyramid Lighting Science’s Prism ballast for a 315 watt CMH rig and The Green Sunshine Company’s Electric Sky ES300 LED panels are also going to be tested by your’s truly. Add the Pulse Nano to the equation and I am rocking some sweet tech in my gardens!!

That’s it for this morning. I’ll be back in a bit with pictures and links for you all.

Hey Now!
Whew, things have been moving along nicely. The clones are really swell. I still have a mite issue though, not to bad but still. I am treating using Trifecta Crop Control. Apparently I can use it through the entire grow. That's pretty cool as it states it prevents PM and botrytis so... Anywho it makes my garden smell good too. I really like the stuff. Never really had pests before but with this it's fairly simple to add to my pest control regimen.
This ones for my good bud @BigSm0 , hope you're doing well my friend. I have been pushing my COBs pretty close to my canopy and they seem to be eating it up. Remarkably both tents the Mephisto autos and the Tangilope clones. I'll get some pictures up in a bit but like 12 inches maybe? Pretty close and they look great! I know you have been wondering about nutrients and lights and burning, etc. I post some pics like I said.
Boy I have had trouble germing again, go through spurts, nothing is 100%. Not like a pouch of tomato seed for a buck... I am going to try a paper towel again, let's see what I can do. Once they pop I can grow em!
Been keeping busy with the Battle and testing. I am getting some great lights to play with. Cannot wait to fire them up. I'll have something for the tent outside my garden soon and will use the Ceramic Metal Halide kit I just got and the LED panels will go in the clone tent. I'll continue to use my standard, the AutoCOB, in my big tent. Kind of my control as it were.

Supper!
I'll get some pictures up next.
Peace,
