New Grower will taking the ripe buds off stunt growth

Growing is totally customizable. What works for some, may not work for others. You just have to find your groove! Experience is the best teacher. I would definitely recommend new growers like us to at least try it once. And unless you've trimmed a whole plant by yourself before, it will give you a real reality check on how tedious it is, how much smell to expect and how much time it takes. Plus, if you mess up somewhere in the dry/cure process, you didn't mess up the whole plant and all your buds.
Congrats on getting to this point! Happy Growing!

Very well said bud.

For a photo, how long, ballpark, roughly, guesstimate, etc., does it take for a hermie to develop from it's identifiable with certainty to it starts distributing viable pollen.......

...... And does anyone know how long the same takes for an auto, is it even worthwhile to try to find ballpark figures for hybrid seeds grown with up to 3 different genetic sets so any results could be very individual and not close to representing a population...... Just speculation.......

...... But.whatever the case may be, my idle musings about a mother plant and clones to follow has taken a distant future turn.....

Great this issue came up for discussion

Nope. I dont think there is really enough time for it to herm because of the partial harvest when it's this late in life. I could see that happening if I were leaving the plants for weeks and trying to grow out new bud sites. But the bud is already matured. Its just getting more time and light so it can amber up.

I harvest the top part this past Monday night at 67 days and I will harvest the rest as soon as the trichs start to show enough amber. The plan is to harvest 7-10 days later AT MOST. But I'm watching the trichs on the buds daily because they can change overnight and will harvest as soon as they are ready!

Some say yes, some say no, lol. Growing is totally customizable. What works for some, may not work for others. You just have to find your groove! Experience is the best teacher. Max self-inflicted Pain, great post :slap:

Don't worry too much about herm. Only white pistils can be pollinated so if most of the pistils are orange the impact of a herm would be minimal. For me letting the plant get some amber has produced the most potent buds. The plant gets a better smell after being cured too.
