From what I have been reading trics may not go Amber. I'm not sure if this is common with Autos, if it's strain specific, or if it has something to do with longer light cycles. I am growing some Afghan Kush Ryder from WOS, its currently at day 58 with about 75% Milky trics, and 0 Amber from the buds I inspected with the scope.

Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

As one of the key uses of my medication is sleep assistance, I would normally be harvesting a photo at 20%-50% Amber for a good "couch lock" effect.

How long does degredation of the tricoms take on an Auto?

Basicly... since I have been unable to find evidence that the AKR from WOS does go Amber, im fearful that I may miss my window waiting for it to Amber. Not sure if im making a ton of sense, lol.

Any feedback or information would be appriciated.

Heres a pic of the AKR at day 57

Beautiful looking plant! I've heard some autos don't turn amber, but all of the one's I've got (4 strains) have amber on them.

Thanks OG,
Ive checked out the spirit51 in your test grow thread. What other strains went amber for you?

This has been a topic of a lot of debate recently and there doesn't seem to be a definitive answer as to why some amber and some don't. I've also grown Onyx and HBD to 12 weeks and had no amber on them.

Dutch1....does your Magnifier have a light on...?

What I was saying in mods was..I have a digital microscope with an overhead light.

If I View through the day with surrounding daylight..I see the ambers as a colour Tint...

If I view in a Dark room..with only the scope overhead light..I see the ambers really defined.

If you have a scope with it's own light try it..

All my girls amber...but they are all Afghan dominant girls...so I don't know if it is an
Afgan only trait..
or if they are all Capable of it.

I took this about an hour ago..dark room..scope overhead light only..

I have amber trics on my PakRyder and Fruit, though they're not too widespread. At most 5-10% while the others have been cloudy for a while now. Given how slow they're changing, I can't imagine the whole plant turning amber like a photo would.

My scope does have a light on it, and I normally check them in a fairly dark basement.

I had read somewhere on this forum that it may have to do with light cycle...

Andy, knowing that the WOS paki goes Amber i bet their AKR will too.
Hopefully I will start seeing them soon. Thanks for the feedback.

some people say that if the trichs dont amber then hit it with a 12/12 light cycle the last week. i personally havent tested this myself yet but it is the general consensus.

This is what we have been talking about in mods...apart from my girls all being Afghan dominant..I grow outdoor..
so..
I never go beyond about 14.75 hours..and I have been outdoor below 10 hours
But..
FD's still amber in his grow room..so it is debatable..

The more people we can get to but digital magnifiers on their christmas list...the faster we can start catagorising ALL of them....:D
