Grow Mediums Why organic nutrients do not work in coco

@420autoflower What sort of yield are you getting? How big are your pots? I feel like your are missing out on growth only watering one cup twice a day. Is your coco staying wet?

You might be right.
I’ve been using 2 and 3 gallon containers and average about 39-45 ounces in my 4x2 tents. Doesn’t seem like the young seedlings need to much in the beginning. 1 turkey baster full is watering to run off and that’s done twice a day, during the first week. I do bump up the water and PPM when the roots establish themselves in the coco.

First week.

you know that those blocks aren't coco right?
Those blocks aren’t but if you look at his previous pics his bags are filled with coco.

@420autoflower yeah I’m curious as I’m tired of hand watering and mixing nutes. I am going to make a smaller one gal with coco and DTE amendments. I’m going to bottom water so no run off. I’ll probably top water once a week with calmag and recharge. Will see how it goes.

Sorry, I should have been more clear.
The seedlings are in 4x4” Grodan cubes for the first week of their lives. After a week and the roots have penetrated through I place them onto the coco.
I’ve gotten into a habit using the cubes, it not only saves me space in the beginning, but it also gives me more options on different growing methods.

The plants are anywhere from 110-135 grams each. The total weight for the last GG-4 grow was over 46 ounces. The dry weight on the smallest plant in the front right corner weighed in at 111 grams.

Awesome! It’s worth a try.
Please keep us posted.

I have read many posts online of people that have made biotabs work with coco.
I have read many posts online of people who claim to grow 2 lb. plants with goat piss and old Dr. Pepper (so to speak) but that don't make it so. I know it's confusing out there. That's why understanding the basic biology and physics behind a particular methodology really helps. Good luck with your grow friend!

No, no...My apologies. I saw it before, but there are so many interesting threads I often loose track which I've seen and what's inside...
