Grow Mediums Why organic nutrients do not work in coco

This method does work an I expect to have some great results in flower just like I before but even better.I get living fungi an great microbial action just like soil but being still a soiless medium

Coco is just one component of your mix.
You can grow in pure coco a with some perlite and treat it almost like a hydroponic and water it several times a day with liquid nutrients, or you can mix it just like you would peat moss, with some organic matter, organic fertilizers, some gypsum, and you have a good organic soil.

Yes the down to earth has added stuff its mostly coco a visual inspection would show that but is it soil ,nope it's still classified as soiless it says so on the bag .Does it act like soil when I'm watering once a day because my plants in soil could go 3 to 4 .It doesn't have the components that true soil has either .I call it living coco I guess I could call it living coco peat lol Either way I'm getting the benefits of hydro in a living microbial situation an these buds at just under 4 weeks frosty from the tip of the leaf till the end got me hooked on

Hmm, a little strange, considering that you are new to cultivation, not to listen to the advice of other more experienced people. I hope your coconut didn't die. Are you sure that you are following all the other measures necessary for coconut growth? Maybe the problem is just in the temperature and light? In general, it seems to me that it is simply impossible to grow a coconut at home in the USA. A friend of mine works at https://pgbeautyolympics.com/store/6336, and they order all the coconuts and other fruits in African countries. It's not cheap. Surely if there was an opportunity, cosmetics companies would grow fruits for their products themselves.

Gonna attempt a grow using just coco with alfalfa pellets mixed in 5% or so(?), and weed leaf tea waterings, can also mix some weed leaf into the soil too, just though that while writing this.

I can break the pellets down and mix them throughout the coco, or leave them whole and mix spread throughout the coco.

Any advice from anyone that has been successful with organic coco?

what ph are waterings have you had most success with?

thanks

Generally you want to feed coco coir at about 5.8 with synthetic nutes. But I think with doing organic coco you want to ph at about 6.2 to 6.5.

Awesome, thank you very much for the reply and glad to get it from someone that appears to be doing very well with organic coco.

Hey Guys & Gals,
Just finished this grow using coco/perlite/EWC + added mineral kit for coco + geoflora nutes.

This has been my most successful grow yet - fully organic, and I thoroughly enjoyed watching these ladies grow. It was a fairly easy grow, did not do much training, and while I was shooting for water only, I ended up having to supplement a few times with compost teas.

305 grams of top shelf buds from 4 plants + a couple oz of small buds/trim for oil.

I am planning on continuing this style, with only a few minor changes. Happy growing

Well it's hard to give a good answer to that. I would say so far I'm making it work. Is it a poor choice ? Well maybe, depending on your situation. I want to make this work in CoCo because I'm trying to solve a problem. Peat/soil hold water way to long in my set up and cause me all sorts of issues. CoCo fix's that problem for me. I believe If I could make peat/soil work it would be superior with water only method.

So I guess I would have to throw a question back at ya , why do you want to use Coco as your base ? Adding things like compost and vermiculite, and castings to Coco are going to change CEC and buffering in ways that are beyond my expertise. I'm just learning along the way with this experiment following some dude on youtube so I don't want to stray to far.

ohh I forgot to mention the other reason why I'm doing this.. Because I'm LAZY !!! If I'm going to be stuck with COCO it would sure be nice not to have to water all the time and mess around mixing nutrients up... ohh man I hate watering !

Haa!!! I do it cause I'm lazy too!!! "Give the laziest man the most difficult job.... he'll figure out the easiest way to do it.". Me.

Yea I wanted to see if he was full of BS with his grow method. If you search around you'll see there is a lot of failed attempts to copy his grow. I have not found any journals that have made it work in coco. I can see a few potential issues now why guys are failing. First he doesn't talk about rinsing and buffering his coco. I think he's found himself a really good brand of coco where they do a good job of washing and buffering it for him. Another issues is he's all over the place with what PH to use. Early vids he is using between 6.5-6.8. His later vids he says to keep it under 6.5. I think some people may have missed that. I find watering to be a bit of a pain to not get any run off and give it more of a wet dry cycle. The coco becomes really hydrophobic and if you water too fast it just goes right through the pot. You have to be super slow with it to make sure and get even coverage and no run off. Maybe this is just an issue for me though and I need to water more.

TO ALL-----. The reason Canucks makes his method work is this....
#1--. For advertising he gets the absolute best of EVERYTHING!!! Imagine if I gave you all 650 Watt Gravitas, HLG, Cali Works, Spider Farmers?? (Also gets top shelf nutrients, exhaust air flow, testing equipment EVERYTHING FOR FREE!!!!

#2. He has sooo many plants growing, he can switch em out FOR THE CAMERA!!! He's making money, think he's going to post plants that suck? ITS A TV SHOW!!!! (essentially)...HE DOESN'T SHOW THE PLANTS THAT SUCK!!!!

#3. He Is Given TOP OF THE LINE EVERYTHING!!!!
#4. TOP OF THE KINE EVERYTHING!!!!
#5. ITS A TV SHOW!!!
#6. SEED COMPANIES PAY HIM TO GROW THEIR GENETICS....SO...HE GETS PERFECT, HIGHEST QUALITY BEANS EVERY TIME!!! His seeds are hand picked

Do you see my point???? I'll bet he puts well over $100+worth of "care" into each plant.

Use as a guide, but do not expect same results!!! Might take him 2-3 grows all filmed together to get 1 video together.
