Hi guys this is my 2nd nycd plant and from the very start she was very yellow and sick I done a flush around day 45-50 and she regained her green colour back after a week and now has started to go very yellow all over close to harvest and it doesn’t look like normal close to harvest yellowing.

I didn’t get myself a soil ph meter yet but my ppm is under 1000 and run off is coming out less than 1000ppm. Nute feed is at 6.6ph and the run off came out at 6.2 this would indicate low soil ph? I know the run off is a crude estimate and I will need to get a few more tools for soil just looking for some educated guesses on this one because really I am glad she is even making it to the finish line after being sick all grow

this is her day 64 in pictures last nycd I chopped at day 74.

That's called senescence. It's natural and shouldn't be fought. The leaves are losing their ability to create photosynthesis and transferring nutrients to the buds.

Ah right cool man was just double checking as I just ran the same strain in a 15l airpot and it gave huge yield and stayed bright green until the last week and leaves yellowed much slower.

I was just thrown off with this grow as it was sick throughout and grown in a 10l airpot resulting in plant being much smaller and the leaves all started yellowing at once in this instead of just the fans then the rest gradually last the last. Is it different from plant to plant how rapid they yellow?

Every strain has a phenotype that decides it's makeup genetically. GSC, thin mints, Chemdog etc are specific clones of a strain pheno. Every seed is like a snow flake but every clone is just like it's mother. So seed to seed things are going to be different even among the best breeders.

An example with your plant is that it has two parents that were crossed to make the seeds you grew. One plant could be a lanky, light feeding sativa and the other parent is a medium bushy plant that feeds heavy. You're going to get a variety of traits that are going to determine finishing time, stretch, etc

Although senescence is an actual thing.. I seriously doubt that is what the issue is here. It's also not always natural (it can be brought on by stress), and should definitely be fought off if it happens prematurely.

@Autoireland When I look at the pics, I see all sorts of nute burn on the leaf tips, brown rust spots on the leaf edges, leaf curl and a few other issues. You didnt state what you are feeding and the dosage.. 1000 ppms is ok for peak flower, but every plant is different. 1000 ppms may be too much for this particular plant. They don't all feed or react to feeds the same way. Either way, this late in the game, there isn't much you can do that will make the plants appearance any better.. I would remove all of those damaged/yellowed leaves and try to nurse her to the finish line on a super light feed or water only.

@Prophetiko Was thinking wasn’t right you were the one who gave me the advice to do the flush and I gradually upped the feed after that and a week later she was green again. The ppm after the flush was between 500-600ppm and I only fed around the same ppm after that for first feed then upped a little each feed. The only thing I can think of is the ph of the soil is off or maybe the plant just never had much of a chance to be really healthy as I left her very yellow for a long time before flushing.

Biobizz organic (all ml per l)

2 feeds ago I gave her 2.5ml bloom, 1ml topmax(humic+fulvic acid), 1ml calmag and 3ml bioheaven (Helps with nute uptake)

feed yesterday I gave 3ml bloom, 2ml topmax, 1ml algamic (stress reliever seaweed) 3ml bioheaven

the npk of the feed is not really high plus the nutes are quite mild so I’d imagine soil is the problem I will get a good meter for next grow

I’ve been keeping an eye the last week and it’s only the same few leaves showing the Nute burn also maybe the light of the picture isn’t the best as the only rusty spots is in those leaves:shrug:All the tips of the other leaves have the nute burn alright

I get what you mean. He just flushed two weeks ago, idk how they looked but coming back from previous issues was why I thought it looked the way it did. The buds look pretty dense, a micro shot of trichs would help a bit but he doesn't look more than 2 or 3 weeks from harvest.

Wow! Totally forgot about that! I just went back and checked your old post! Can't believe this is the same plant! Congrats on getting her this far!! I was a little nervous about her when you first posted the issues! Now that I have the full memory of the issue, I would again say that there won't be much you can do at this point. You're in the home stretch now, and throwing more nutes at her won't help.. I don't feel like it's a soil issue at this point. I honestly think it's a combination of deficiencies that are just taking their toll.. I think those deficiencies were caused by a lock out early on.

If you feel like the plant will be ready to harvest in the next 10-14 days, I would skip the bottles nutes from this point on. You should be fine with water only at this point.

On the next plant you grow, try not feeding any bottled nutes for the first few weeks. Watch what happens... Less is always more! These plants don't need much. And as you've learned, it doesn't take much to over do it.

No worries! I just remembered that he had posted his issues earlier, like 2 weeks ago.. Check out the pics from when he first posted, and compare them to the pics in this thread, lol. Im just proud the plant is still alive, lol. Yeah, if he's a few weeks from harvest, I'd just put the grow on cruise control with water only.. Poor plant has had a rough life, lol.. Might as well send her off in peace!

Cheers man it was touch and go for a while there was nearly giving up on her only for your advice id say she would have been doomed so thanks for that

Going to be a fairly lousy yield id imagine I’ll be lucky to get 1/2 oz off her but better than nothing for sure  I am definitely just giving plain water until the end now because I’d imagine I’ll be chopping in the next 10-14 days.

The nutes are going to stay low next grow not going to introduce for a few weeks and when I do going to keep the doses low and focus on keeping environment in check and watering correctly.

Going to start a new diary in the next week be sure to drop by hopefully I won’t be looking for help this one going to keep it simple. Going to go with a zkittles og auto as barneys farm sent me 5 seeds for putting my grow on Growdiaries:woohoo:

also going to run a black jh by original sensible seeds so fingers crossed I’m going to be running a migro 200 so double the light power used in last grow looking forward to seeing how it turns out.
